A relic of bygone times that replaced an older wooden bridge here which is long gone now. Adjacent to this relic are two other road bridges one now disused other than for pedestrian traffic. I know which bridge is more characterful though. Here you can see how the transport of goods has changed over the centuries from pack horse to train and eventually to road. The bridge lies adjacent to Meirion Mill now and the bridges are at the entrance to it. Also at this entrance can be found the entrance gates to Dinas Mawddwy Railway Station erected in 1870. The industrial heritage gives the Mill a rich and...

Pont Minllyn is an early 17th century packhorse bridge crossing the River Dyfi in Minllyn. Its two arch spans have lost their original upper structure and it is now topped with grass. The bridge is narrow and a very appealing structure, unlikely to look out of place in Tolkien's Shire. It is thought construction of the bridge was funded by eminent Welsh scholar Dr John Davies, famous for his translations of the...

This is a beautiful bridge in a picturesque setting but there are a number of things that spoil the experience. The interpretation board is looking very tired and dirty, the steps down to the river are treacherous and rickety, the gate at the end is falling off its hinges and the riverbanks are infested with Japanese knotweed and Himalayan balsam. Sad neglect of a historic bridge and...

It is very pretty but blink and you will miss it. I struggled to even find it. It is only accessed by a gate at the entrance to Meirion Mill shop. Go through it and down the steps you can't actually get anywhere. If only there was a pathway running down the water side. The best view is from the main road.

This is a beautiful little jem its "lost in plane sight" you drive straight past it either on the main road or going to the Mill so look out for it its at the entry of the Mill just before you go into their gate - tranquil and beautiful
