Postives to begin with - absolutely beautiful setting. Small private alcove beach and a lovely coastal walk. Small little shop which offers traditional takeaway options and ice creams. Handy if visiting for the day, or don't want to treck out for food.

We visited during the holiday season when the kids were off school. To say it was rammed would be a unstatment. The beach was very busy and car park full. If staying, it does quieten down from 6-7pm. The fields are spacious, leaving plenty of space between you and your neighbours. This being said the only spot available for vans with a coastal view (the whole point in visiting) was in the farthest field. This was quiet a treck to the amenities.

There is 2 showers (1 male, 1 female) and 4 toilets (2 male, 2 female). During peak season expect queues for both. Shower are £1 to use. In clean condition considering how busy there were.

Outside sink to wash up pots, pans etc.

Bins available, however overflowing when we visited.

No signal or Internet - which we found quite nice. However, if you need access to either of these, be prepared.

Road on the lead up to site and car park was very bumpy. Again given the traffic flow could be worse.

£20 a night for non electric vechicle....

Attended for the beach. Had noticed the parking charge and decided on paying upon leaving. Plenty of parking. Lovely beach. Went during weekday so was quiet. When we were leaving there was a man in a golf buggy telling us that because we didn't pay upon arrival there will be a £20 fine, despite there being no mention of this on the signs. The man insisted we were to pay this 'fine' or he wouldn't allow us to leave. I proceeded to inform him we had planned to pay on leaving - he said he'd never heard of payment upon leaving a carpark - really strange... Where I come from, most car parks have automatic number plate recognition parking cameras and we pay by putting number plate in at end.

Either way, this guy said he wouldn't allow us to leave and decided to shut the gate and park his buggy in front of us, not allowing us to leave, and not even allowing us to pay at the machine. We threatened to call the police - he said he was within his rights as we had 'tresspassed'. Clearly didn't know what he was talking about. Eventually after wasting our time he agreed to take the £5 parking charge and allow us to go on our way.

As I said, it was a beautiful beach. Shame about the poor welcome by the greedy and ignorant...

Robin, the farmer and owner is a wonderful man who has opened up his little piece of paradise to the public. He didn’t and doesn’t have to! He diligently works the land that has been in his family for generations. He’s a hard working farmer not a bloody meet and greet car parking valet.

The campsite is managed by Chris who will do anything for anyone who treats the place with the respect it deserves. Lee, who runs the food outlet, is expanding his offering to high end coffee in the near future and already provides pizzas and other delicious food at very reasonable prices. Lee, again, will do his utmost to make you feel welcome and catered for.

I don’t know where all this nonsense about grumpy farmers and parking fines is coming from. Would you expect to park at Disneyland for free? No, exactly. Well don’t expect to rip off the rural community here then!

The beach is unrivalled. The walk down is part of the pleasure of exploring a wild coastline where you can still see dolphins, porpoise and seals. Get over the lack of steps, seriously!

For me, this is the best place...

A stunning location. A place many people want to visit, myself included I often scan Google maps looking for good campsites and found this location by myself but since then it's been advertised to me via social media countless times and this is contributing to it getting a lot of attention! I turned up thinking we could camp for two nights as most campsites allow people to arrive without booking (obviously if there wasn't room I had several other sites in mind as backup) the site manager was very kind and allowed us to stay. But he did tell me it's essential to book ahead! This I'd tried to do by looking in vain for a website, so I'll save you time by telling you there is no website, go to the Facebook page and ring the number there if you'd like to book a pitch 😊 I was told they're fully booked up to next summer so good luck! as to the site itself, it's everything you'd want it to be! simple but clean, not too crowded very well priced and a good atmosphere.

Just stayed here for one night at £20, which was payable by card. Chris came along in his little motor, to collect payment. We didn't pay at the farm pay and display on entry. He was a nice guy and told us not to rush off in the morning, as we wanted to stay at the beach. Quite a windy place, but that is expected on a hill by the sea. Beach has a steep walk but is doable, you might just want to wear boots/trainers down, rather than flipflop. Not much on site, just 4 toilets, 2 showers, sink for cleaning dishes (cold water only) and then waste disposal pits for caravan loos and rubbish bins/recycling. We didn't use the showers but I believe they are £1 for 5 minutes. We had an ice cream from snack bar, which were reasonable priced and they take card payment. All in all, well worth a stay or day trip, as you don't have to camp, you can just park up for the day, though I am unsure of how much that costs. We will be returning!
