This is a long beach with plenty of space. It has a bank of pebbles at the high tide mark but otherwise it's clean sand all the way. The beach runs off at a shallow angle making it Ideal for youngsters who want to paddle. The water is clean and free of seaweed. Waves come in rapid succession and we're up to about 1m high at the time of my visit (Aug 25) so it was ideal for novice body boarders and surfers. There are no facilities or lifeguard cover. There are 2 small car parks at the beach access point offering a total of about 20 spaces but it is possible to park on the grass verge that runs along...

Nice wide beach, with small car park and on street parking. Only a few minutes to walk from the carpark, but I expect the walk will be much longer on a hot day when the carpark is full and the approach road fills with cars. Great beach for dogs too. (Although there are the usual selfish owners who leave their dog pop on the sandy path so take care on the walk through!!) It is very stoney in parts so take beach shoes of some sort. Tide was well in when we were there, so don’t know if the stones are just near the dunes or all the way. Will definitely go back if the...

TAKE CARE TO READ THE TIDE TIMES.....PLEASE BE AWARE IF YOU VISIT THIS BEACH THAT THE TIDE COMES ALL THE WAY IN TO THE BASE OF THE CLIFFS AND YOU MAY BE FURTHER AWAY FROM SAFETY THAN YOU THINK. Walk down the beach for 20 minutes and you could be nearly A MILE away from safety...... I was there the other day and people were aways down the beach on an incoming tide, in real danger of being cut off (the beach has a curve to it)..... Saying that, this is a massive beach with plenty of room for everyone and a wonderful place to be on a...

Small free car park with some additional parking on the road, no other facilities available nearby. The walk towards the beach is sandy & the beach is huge. If you walk to the left of the beach you will find a path which leads on to the Coastal Walk which leads back to the car park. I visited here mid week at the end of June and it was fairly quiet. Mainly dog walkers whose dogs looked like they were having the time of their lives & enjoying the freedom to run free. Perfect spot for some much needed fresh air.

What a beautiful beach. Renowned for its surfing and body boarding, and well deserved. It's the gateway to the Atlantic and as such gets fabulous waves seldom seen outside of places like Cornwall. If I were to be picky, on busy days you have to park on the road and walk a distance to the beach. But it's free. It's a huge beach, albeit there are lots of stoney bits, there are also lots and lots of sandy bits too. You can't come to the peninsula and not visit Hells Mouth. You'll love it.
