We came upon this little hidden gem of a cove by accident whilst we staying on a nearby farm on holiday. There is a car park at the top of the path down to the beach which is just at the side of the farm it is a little hidden and is just a field, it is pay by honesty box £2. The walk down to the beach is steep and unsuitable for people with accessibility problems or push chairs. we took our 2 grandchildren (4 & 2 yrs) without any issues. Once on the beach you realise it was worth the effort, a stunning waterfall is your backdrop as you look out to sea. A small cave a one end is worth an explore. We visited in January so didn't stay too long but it is secluded . Once back up the steps there is a path that leads round to the old buildings associated with the Manganese mine that used to be there, a lovely walk in itself if you don't fancy the steps to the beach .

Not one for the faint hearted this, but once you eventually get there it’s a great little beach. You’ll need to be fit and relatively good at navigating. When you park in the lay-by, head down The public footpath immediately to the right on the main stretch not the one opposite the T-junction. Then as you go down the valley you’ll see a kissing gate on the right that’s what you’ll need to take and then immediately take the next left which will take you down to about 100 steps down to the beach. It’s quite precarious I’m not one for those who are relatively fit and able bodied. The beach is quite small but there is some great little looks and crannies for kids amongst the volcanic rocks but make sure they stay away from the cliffs which you can see are suffering from erosion and have quite fresh falls.

My partner stayed here 15 years ago and brought me back here today to see what he'd enjoyed & boy am I glad he did! Fabulous walk down to beach and waterfall - considering the parking is only £1 for 2hrs - the steps, path & bridges are finished to wonderful standard! Highly recommend! It is a hike and steep but well worth the view! Self catering accommodation is also available on site and there's even a little church if you are that way inclined.

Great place to swim in the sea if you are nervous of big open bays like Aberdaron or Whistling sands. Best entry to the sea is slightly to your left (down over the rocks) at the foot of the staircase but at high tide any point on the beach is good. Sure you need calm sunny days but even at low tide it can be fun to sit on a rock and let the incoming tide wash you off. The beach is south facing so sunbathing is good too. And to top it off it’s only a one hour walk back to Aberdaron for a hearty meal at...
