My family and I had a great day out here recently, featuring a mix of kids and adults. While here, we had a good time and were here for 5½ hours with a range of activities for all to enjoy and try out. Despite the amusements being incredibly busy, especially on a Sunday in the Summer break, this didn't affect our enjoyment or experience of trying them; such as the Titanic, the Slides (which where nerve-wracking but fun) and the See-Saw. Unfortunately for me, and some of my adult family members, these were pretty much all the rides we could go on because the Adults wristband only gets you on certain rides and amusements, while the Child wristband gets you on them all; which was disappointing. But it was still an entertaining experience. We also had a lot of fun in the Haunted Funhouse too! While here, we all had lunch from the Crocky Bites cafe; it came to £55.00 for eight of us which was OK and had pizza, chicken nuggets, sausages and fries. I personally found the margarita pizza too dry and bland and I didn't think it was worth the £10 we payed for it. We all had an ice-cream afterwards and had flavours like vanilla, clotted cream, strawberry and salted caramel. It came for £24.00 which was a little expensive but the ice cream was tasty and was okay as an after dinner treat. Personally, my best bit and my favourite part was the trail itself; which was relaxing and I do quite like going for nature walks when I can and there weren't any limit on what we could go on or try. There were also a variety of activities to do along the way for adults and children alike, such as zip-wires, trying to catch the ball on a swing and two mazes which we all enjoyed. You can also spot some lovely scenery views of Cheshire and into Wales along the trail which I liked, as I like looking at, and taking pictures of geographical-scenery. It took us nearly two hours to complete it, but it was worth it! There were also some inflatables for the kids to go on before the trail finished, which my niece and nephew had a lot of fun on, we also spotted some goats, who were friendly and happy when greeted by them. They also seem well-looked after by the staff who work with them. Although the day was enjoyable, I took one star off the review because although we payed in card for all the said purchases (recommend to book tickets online), they don't accept cash which can be a limit to some people who either prefer paying with it or don't have a card and there were only certain rides which adults can go on which can get boring or ruin the experience. The cafe was also a little on the expensive side but was okay as a one off. Nonetheless, we all enjoyed the day and will look at coming back again...
Read moreWhat a fantastic family fun filled day out this was! For £54 it got all 4 of us in, which I think is good value for money considering the pleasure beach wanted £184 for 4 of us!! However, this is not for the health and safety boffins...some really simple yet cleverly engineered attractions here... mostly slides which have been made using trailers, tipper trucks etc. The slides are really high so I personally don't recommend under 4's, although there are a few things they can go on... they have bouncy castles, lots of swings and adventure play, clean toilet facilities and really nice coffee shops and the most amazing ice cream parlour selling some really tasty unusual ice creams...yes..they had cherry bakewell ice cream!! The trial is also fantastic...takes around an hour to do the trial and along the way you will find various activities such as rope swings, underground tunnels, swings, various adventure play...the walk is quite beautiful but take a backpack with drinks in it for those with little legs...you can take your own picnic into the crocky trial and once your in everything is included in the price (apart from refreshments and food) but what I mean is there is no extra charge for things like the bouncy castles etc. The Mats you sit on can be damp/wet...so wear old clothes that you don't mind getting wet or dirty because even on a hot day...you get covered in mud...baring in mind it's pretty much a farmers yard filled with slides and adventure play! Also do not wear shorts as you are at risk of friction burns!! The whole family must go on the "Titanic" .. what a laugh trying to stay on it without sliding off! And adults can join in the fun too if they are brave enough to tackle the big slides! Either way, if you go here you can guarantee the kids will want to come back and with a price like that you can't go wrong! (Can't post pics as they have mine and others children on them...
Read moreWent to the park with my wife and daughter. At first there was no obvious disable parking so ended up two fields away as it was busy. When we got in, the our daughter made a beeline for 'the big one', the biggest slide in the park. She hit her head coming down which put her off going on the slides again. This should be manned by staff to give children instructions as it is very very high up. Whilst stood watching her on another ride, three grown adults without any children and a dog were stood watching the children on the ride. Their dog was quite vicious which became apparent. They let their dog near ours puggle and it latched onto his neck! Drama ensued obviously. After that mood killing episode we reported it to the staff who were sympathetic but little was done on the grounds of me describing them and the incident and the people involved who seem to take immense fun in what had happed. I asked if it was common for three grown adults and a dog to visit without children for £14 a ticket! Went to get a drink from the machine and all of them were broken, surrounded by confused visitors as it was the only way to get a drink of water. All in all it felt like an unattended kids playground in a municiple park. Great potential but missing the mark on service amd services. Would like to go again but security and safeguarding concerns as we as poor amenities and staff train/procedures don't seem to exist. Oh, also there is a rule, you can accompany your children on rides (supposedly according to the website). When you go adults get a red wrist band and children a yellow one. As far as I could see 99% of the rides say yellow...
