Having visited Heaven Farm twice in the last month, there were mixed reviews on google but we decided to go so we could go on the nature trail walk with our dog. The young gentlemen selling tickets were so helpful & polite, a pleasure to deal with. The tearoom staff were also lovely, polite & smiley which finished our day off beautifully ( the tearoom is also very reasonably priced) . Fast forward to today when we brought my elderly parents out to Heaven Farm for a spot of lunch/ cream tea. As my parents are 82, they wanted to sit inside, so we ventured in, found a seat with our well behaved jackachi dog. Unfortunately a member of the public made it very uncomfortable for us because we had our well behaved dog in the tearoom ( unlike her unruly children )!! She proceeded to keep saying loudly about our dog & we were politely asked by a rather embarrassed manager/owner of the tearooms if we could move outside as it was a no dog policy on Sun between 12-2 , I was angry at first as the woman creating had obviously complained to the staff instead of just speaking to us !! Had we not had my parents with us, I probably would have left, however when we were seated outside, the owner/manager of the tearoom ( I presume) came outside & spoke to us, he was apologetic & explained politely the policy & offered us a voucher for our next visit. I can’t fault anything about Heaven Farm or the tearooms & staff everything was handled in a truly professional manner & my parents thoroughly enjoyed themselves & they will be going back next week with friends. Thank you to ALL the staff & to the gentleman in charge who diffused a very unpleasant...

A group of us pre booked a table for lunch at the Stable Cafe and were left pretty shocked by the experience. We sat down at 12:30, ordered what are effectively salads and sandwiches (and a couple of hot things like macaroni cheese) and food didn’t arrive until 13:45! There was only one poor waitress manning the tills and the floor all at once on a Saturday afternoon- who clearly could have done with some extra help… When the food finally arrived, we were pretty shocked at the lousy portions and unappealing presentation of the extortionate Ploughman’s. I have attached photos to show the hacked slice of half an egg, and goats-cheese-smeared, sliced pear. For £13.50 and 70+ minutes of prep time, a bit more love could be put into preparing a basic, (puny) lunch platter? When I mentioned our concerns to the chef, he did return with a few extra morsels but got unnecessarily defensive about the staffing issue and launched into a very strange tirade about the Labour Party…(!) “Blame this government” was his response to the wait time we’d endured. It goes without saying, we found it a strange and inappropriate way of handling constructive feedback and we will not be returning as the food was overpriced, average and excruciatingly slow. (The ice cream place was great, however, and was the highlight of...

Lovely spot that can get very busy, there is however quite a lot of parking but we have been when it's almost full ! There are several things to do including a woodland walk with points of interest marked on a map you are given when you pay. The walk is undoubtedly best at Bluebell time in April, it is approximately a mile in length but beware if it undulating and if it has been wet as it can be slippery and boggy. There is also a play barn with inflatables /soft play area for younger children, climbing frame, miniature golf, frisbee golf and a small free play area with slide etc. There are of course charges for the main walk and events at varying costs. There are Albino and ordinary Wallabies in a large enclosure to be seen on the woodland walk. Chicken wander around and Rooster may try and steal your food! There is a rather nice Cafe /bar and a Gelato shop in a separate building. I can recommend the toasted cibatta belly pork roll with stuffing and apple puree, cost 9.50 and pot of tea 2.50. The staff are faultless ! Later in the year, I believe there may be a maize maze, sunflower maze. Quite a variety for the children to see and plenty of activity to wear them out! Probably not the most disability friendly place though due to the nature of the wild steeply undulating...

Lovely setting and parking was easy with several disabled parking bays. We had a coffee and a BLT for a late lunch. The service was slow, only seemed to be one member of staff. The coffee was on the cold side so we drank it quickly. The BLT at £9 was also disappointing there was no choice of bread offered. When it arrived the bread was white shop bought bread. With a name such as Butlers pantry, we would have at least expected a choice of white or brown and at least a sliced Bloomer that at least looked a bit more home made. The fillings were good but the presentation was let down by the poor choice of bread. Beginning of the season and the decking and unplanted planters looked tired and unloved. With a few minor tweeks, freshen up the decking and outside of the barn with a bit of stain. If you’re going to have planters, they are only a good addition if you have them planted and cared for. Other wise remove them and make the most of your space. Latchett’s dairy the gelato was delightful and well worth a trip out, it is worth noting they do not accept cash, card & mobile payments only.
