Amazing the council have this little gem in Uckfield. Thank you. 🙏. It’s dog friendly but always on a leash and pick up Your poo! Easy walking footpaths. Not bitumen or concrete so maybe not so good in the rain or take wet weather shoes. There’s an open grassed area too if you want to take a picnic although I would walk over to the lake after walking through the forest here. It would be good if we could get a Bunch of volunteers together to help to remove the blackberry taking over parts of the nature reserve. I walked from Uckfield centre - about 20 minutes through the footpaths. A few entrances into the park from the suburbs. Parking is available but not a great deal. Steps have been installed on a number of steep paths. Not really suitable for wheel chairs.

Small nature reserve bordered by houses and the Uckfield bypass. Pleasant for a short walk taking in some wild flowers, impressive trees and sandstone outcrops when the paths are drier in summer. I didn't find that paths too muddy in June, but wooden walkways have been installed in certain areas suggesting a propensity for flooding.

Fantastic, such ancient terrain I didn't know existed despite having visited Uckfield many times! So many enormous rocks to walk over, one particular attraction is the hollow of a fallen tree with an interior that's scorched black from when lightning struck it. A pity many visitors use it as a bin.

Wet and disgustingly muddy which is a great shame as the place is a delight particularly in the warmer dryer weather..the fencing is being renewed near the by pass which is essential. The grounds people are trying their best to control the undergrowth. The walkways are a great help where the flood water congregates in certain areas. We desperately need these spaces as many are being removed by...

West Park LNR is a nice urban-fringe nature reserve and is great for public access to open spaces and nature. Road noise from the adjacent A22 is loud and the reserve is tightly bounded by roads and houses. However, there are plenty of niches for wildlife, has a varied habitat range, and it serves as an important part of the green corridor running along the west side...
