Booked my boys (13 and 15) to do the Treetop Adventure Plus. My 15 year old was really looking forward to it having wanted to do it for years. My 13 year old was looking forward to it and asked to do it despite his fear of heights. The initial briefing is done really well. Kyfer was great at explaining everything and is SO GOOD with children, even though my 15 year old just answered his friendly questions with “I don’t know” 😂 Once up there my 13 year old decided he couldn’t do it so I approached Kyfer and he was great, as were the rest of the staff, at organising someone to help my son down. However, this is where it gets better. I’ve looked on social media and can’t find the staff members name but she was AMAZING. Rather than walking my son down she helped give him the confidence to do the first part of the course. I couldn’t believe it. He did then decide he didn’t want to go any further and also had doubts about coming down the zip line but once again, this member of staff came along and showed him what to do and gave him the confidence to go down it. Later on when I was stood watching my step son do it she came over to me to ask how my son was now. She told me she was due to help him down the steps but instead wanted to help him do the course (she didn’t force him, just encouraged him). She was so friendly and I really can’t thank her enough for helping him. (Go Ape, this was on Friday the 16th of August, my sons name is Harry, that might help if you can pass on my words to this colleague. She’s a real asset to you). During our conversation she also explained to us about some of the other courses they have there so we’ll definitely be booking again for next year. My son was really grateful for her help and she made his day by writing “You were amazing” on his certificate. He was really beating himself up for not completing it so her writing that meant a lot to us. Because I want to give a balanced review my only slight negative was that it was super busy with people constantly going up which resulted in a lot of waiting around whilst my 15 year old was up there (I didn’t mind watching but he felt it took away from the experience and as a result meant he didn’t want to do the Plus part of the course, which was a shame. I think also if it wasn’t so busy maybe my 13 year old would have done a bit more of the course). Thank you again to the amazing staff. It’s tough to be on the ground and seeing your child struggle so high up but the fact you all helped him and encouraged him was...
Read moreWhat's not to love about GoApe, there so much to do and review, but I'm going to stick to the fact that we went to celebrate our boys 8th Birthday.
So we arrange the Tree Top Challenge for 6 of his fiends, the birthday area we were given was a tree house, a pixie house and another seated area that was also under cover (see pics), all this was ours so it's totally private in the fact that no one would be in the area who wasn't invited, GoApe is a busy place! Now the area is so big we could have had 30 children, although the Pixie hut mut have been a bit of a squeeze if we had, but it's so nice, clean, with bean bags, and you get a music speaker to play birthday tunes through your phone. Depending what time of year you go there was also a static bbq. Staff were very cheery and helpful, we decorated the pixie hut, played games and ate party food. We had this are for three hours for......... I hope you are sitting down, £50, yup, £50, an absolute steal, should have had my birthday there. We then did the tree top adventure, which was for an hour, the 8 year old loved it although my boy got scared for a bit, but he made it round the course with the sole motivation of going down the zip line at the end which is epic, even for an adult, some of the kids went round the course again, some just went straight back to the zip line, it was great fun. There was also a park right near the birthday area, and the cafe/toilets etc were a short walk. Nice offering of food in the cafe, from warm food, pasties etc, to sandwiches and cakes, or bring your own. There were plenty of people doing Segways or just cycling round the amazing mountain bike trail, Thetford forest is immense, so you biking enthusiasts should...
Read moreThe whole climbing bit experience was good. However one of the instructors just doesn't know what customer service is, when it comes to treating your customers equally. Apart of us 3, myself, my husband and our daughter there were also 2 couples that were climbing together. Our climb has been stopped by a thunder so we had to wait for 25 minutes before we can start again, which was absolutely fine. When we were aloud to carry on with the track, the instructor asked the two couples if they would like to repeat track 3 even though they have finished that one before the thunder, so I assumed we will be offered to repeat track 2 as well, as we just finished it just before the thunder. However, the instructor blatantly answered that we have finished that one before the rain, so we can start on the 3rd one. I asked him why he has offered the two couples extra run on the 3rs track but we not allowed to repeat the second one, he said there is no staff, so no one is at the track 2 atm to superwise us.There is no staff around whichever track you are on, they tell you that you're on your own after you finish the training bit. We felt like we were treated differently than other customers for some reason. I don't think I will come back to this particular site after...
