Had the pleasure of staying at the Fisherman's lodge with my brother for a week.||I had zero expectations going in. Arrived and was very pleasantly surprised. The lodge was large enough for a family and had a large living area and fully fitted kitchen. A nicely sized toilet/shower room and a separate toilet. Very cosy and felt like a home away from home. Only thing I found a little lacking was the cooking utensils and pans (just not enough). Just came up a little short when trying to prepare a larger meal.||The grounds and lakes are just the icing on the cake. Some of the most tranquil secluded fishing I've had for a very long time. The swims are nicely spaced out and you get your own private swim with the lodge.||The lakes are very well maintained but still have that "wild" feel with mature trees and wild flowers. Plenty of wildlife too! Spotted my first tree creeper and had a few kingfishers fly past. Also a friendly moorhen that would pop by to visit for any bait we'd "misplaced" (quickly nicknamed "Patrick").||The site manager couldn't do enough for us and ensured we had everything we needed and gave us a tour of the site.||Just went for a bit of "casual" fishing and had plenty of bream and Rudd every day. Read moreAbsolute fabulous place to visit been visiting here for 20 years and it keeps pulling me back already booked for April next year.|Came home today and was there in July.|The accommodation is fantastic 6 cottages (one Disabled friendly cottage 1) there's a fisherman's wood lodge and static caravans, there's a washing machine and dryer , tackle shop and toilets.|The wildlife is awesome as you walk round the lakes , king fishers , lovely deer, foxes, rabbits, owls hooting, the Barn owl is fantastic.|There's an awesome stock of carp in Lonsdale Lake, Beautiful Ghost Koi, Common and Mirror carp, gorgeous Tench , Bream, Huge Roach Perch Pike and Cats.|The Estate Manager Tony is always on hand to help with your requests , even running your gear out with the quad and Trailor, Kerry his lovely Mrs is responsible for the cleaning of the accommodation and is on hand for any queries or requests, even if you want another toilet roll |Dogs are also welcome |Many thanks for another Fantastic stay , see...
