Langley Country Park is misleading. The car park and Cafe are tucked away in a corner of the Estate. The RingGo app collects your money for parking, there’s also a tap and pay machine.

The Park is an enormous area to explore. It includes an orchestrated view of Windsor Castle created many years ago and many rare / valuable trees along with a lot of wildlife.

The big house is a posh Hotel and IMHO we ordinary folk are not invited! The boundary (The Pale) is very clear and unobtrusive.

It’s a fair walk to get beyond the Hotel. If you continue your walk past the lake to its end you are nearly at the other end of the Park from the cafe/car park.

If you turn left along the bottom of the lake you’ll find the path is little used. Be prepared, it’s bramble and nettle lined in parts.

Once clear of this seldom visited area you find yourself on a path heading towards the side road you used to get to the car park. Several left turns are available back towards the cafe.

All these paths run roughly parallel to that side road. You will know when you reach the last of the return paths because the exit from the Park into a posh housing development is in front of you.

Using any of these paths is a delight. Go quietly and carefully to see (or hear) the local wildlife. The screeching call will probably be a Red Kite, they are settling into the area drawn by a lack of competition.

School holidays, weekends and Bank holidays are times to avoid for 2 reasons; 1 - the car park and its overflow extension overflow. Beware the Council have powers to ticket any car parked on the road. 2 - the wildlife moves out looking for tranquility not continuous kids...

Now this is what I call a proper park, not a featurless green space where people just come to jog or walk their dogs. The best park I've been to in the Slough area. The fragrant Rhododendron gardens give the place a blaze of colour and Temple gardens give you an avenue view of Windsor Castle in the far distance. My other favourite feature of this place are the magnificent Giant Sequoias (Wellingtonias) in the Arboretum area; these trees are over 100 years old. Moving on down to the Lake, lazy brown cows soak up the sunshine and lie on the grass in the bordering field, patched with clusters of buttercups. A pair of Swans have made a nest at the far end of the lake protecting their recently hatched offspring. There is a fenced play area for the entertainment of young kids, and plenty of wooden picnic tables/seating near the visitor centre which has a caffe. All in all plenty of features here to provide for a varied and...

I've been driving past Langley Park for years and mainly went to Black Park Country Park for the trails and family attractions - Go Ape, Forest Segway, Met adventure ect. I was astonished when I went to Langley Park for the first time with its flat terrain, lots of history and beauty. Langley Park is described as one of Buckinghamshire's best kept secrets. Beautiful Temple Gardens when in bloom between April and June and wonderful view to Windsor Castle. Many famous people have been linked with the park such as Queen Elizabeth 1, Queen Victoria and King Henry VIII. At the car park is the Tea Room and from here you can venture through the Temple Gardens, Kings Wood, Arboretum to Langley Lake, passing the beautiful Langley Luxury Hotel. This is a lovely park to walk around and dog lovers to meet other dog lovers with their dogs.

Langley Park is a gorgeous spot that blends natural beauty with relaxing convenience. Sitting by the water’s edge, visitors can enjoy the calming views and often catch glimpses of local wildlife that make the area feel alive and vibrant. The walking paths wind gently through the park, perfect for a peaceful stroll or a more energetic walk, offering plenty of space to stretch your legs while staying close to the scenic riverside. For families and groups, Langley Park has everything you need for a day out. The picnic areas and BBQ facilities make it easy to enjoy a meal outdoors, while the beach-style sitting spots are great for simply soaking up the atmosphere. With public toilets on-site, the park is both practical and welcoming, encouraging visitors to spend more time unwinding and enjoying everything the space has to offer.
