It was a beautiful day outdoors. We wished there had been more footpath signs and maps along the way, but we still managed to find all the viewpoints overlooking the reservoir. Remember to bring water and snacks with you. My friend and I walked all the way back to Bath, which was a bit of an adventure, but incredibly rewarding! It worth reading about the history of the place and how they mined ochre and iron from the area. There are also Daubenton bats in the area. There are trails marked with glow-in-the-dark discs for you to follow the trail.

The weather was beautiful. We parked about a mile away at Wick Church, and walked to the start of Golden Valley Road. We walked along the main path, along side the river Boyd. What a lovely walk, with the birds singing. We walked through the mine ruins and upto the Weir, which is quite spectacular. Then we climbed up the steep, rocky, wooded path, which takes you around the top of Wick Quarry, with plenty of great views. We returned back down through the woods. Lovely walk, with more walking potential.

Nice country walk about a 4 mile loop through the nature reserve. The first section past the river on the left leads to a waterfall and pool. After this the path gets very demanding and steep to the top where you have the views of the quarry on your right hand side. Follow the path around the quarry keeping the fence on your right. You will follow a short section of road but keep going right until you pick up the gate back across the front of the quarry then follow the path back down to the bottom

I saw all these posts in various groups, recommending go to Golden Valley for a nice walk so I did, BUT parking is a ball ache and i was there v early, if you got young kids, you're going to be carrying them😬, don't go in flip flops unless you are just walking the main route or if you got a buggy that's only the route you would be able to go, don't go in the rain, the rock trails will be treacherous, prepare like you were going to Everest if you want 'that' view, lots of disappointed people when they realise this and your screwed in social distancing terms of you meet someone else on the rocky trails, don't get me wrong but I have done a lot of walking and it's lovely but just a bit disappointed as it was quite small/short when I was suppose I was...

I saw the golden Valley on Google maps when finishing work at Bath, so I went for a wonder. I really nice walk along side of a river which eventually comes to a pool and a weir. Quite a big wier. With a waterfall near it too. I imagine this water is coming from what was further ahead. A massive quarry filled with water. With a lovely green shimmer. The path up to the viewing ledge is very rocky and steep, making it a bit of a struggle to come down it in damp conditions. If your able a very worth while walk. I spent and hour and a half and took a steady walk. Also please note there is no parking near or on the road leading to the entrance, I found a place to park near some houses near by. There is no...

We visited this place 15th May 2020.It’s a nice place to take a walk around with lovely river walks and plenty of wildlife to be seen plus lots of wild flowers.....Some of the pathways are a little bit steep in places but the views over the quarry are worth while once at the top,it was dry when we went but I can imagine it being quite slippery in the wet...Again as I always say there has been a few irresponsible dog owners visiting which leave there dog mess behind how nice of them...nevertheless is was a good couple of hours spent having a good look around...There is no parking at the park entrance but a few hundred metres up the road at the village...
