A small hidden away miniature railway gem behind the Peacock Inn and Premier Inn hotel, where I went around the small tracks of the site on the train ride, hanged out and talked to both volunteers and visitors there at the site The place was open on Saturday during an Open Heritage Days event, where other visiting miniature gauge Locos were brought in for the day to look at and no cost to enter the place as well during the event, overall a wonderful time.

The Peacock Railway' is located behind The Peacock public house at Willaston. The railway is operated by The South Cheshire Model Engineering Society a really friendly and welcoming crowd. There are permanent tracks of various gauges all in an idyllic setting - a real hidden gem!

Public open days are publicised on the railway's FB page and present an opportunity to ride behind scale locomotives with a variety of power sources. There is also a new track for enthusiasts of smaller gauge rolling stock. Additional attractions are visits from scale traction engines fairground pipe organ & motor club's.

Facilities are excellent, with dedicated parking, toilets and refreshments. I particularly enjoy sitting outside the clubhouse with a piece of cake & cup of coffee while I watch the amazing...
