We loved this place. Our two rescue dogs need to have very secure spaces. Our Carpathian shepherd rescue is a 'Dora the Explorer, as are so many of the Romanian rescues, and we have to ensure her safety. Our 15 year old, very hairy border collie, (who came to us as a nearly bald rescue 18 months ago) is also a wanderer who loves to bounce around like a puppy, so adores this opportunity. The place is almost perfect. The only thing that would make it totally so would be if the wire was also horizontal under the path. From experience elsewhere, and in our own garden, we decided to walk the boundary with them on lead first and realise we will have to do this on each occasion as in one place the path stones had been dug away and there was a hole. The loose stones were on the far side of the fence and our dog would have wriggled out (although a big girl, she can make herself almost flat!). This may have been the work of foxes, but would have been a disaster for us if we had let them off before doing the boundary check. We wonder if there are plans to extend the wire under the path? Hoping this is helpful feedback. Kind regards, Melinda Partner and...
Read moreI booked Portsdown Hill Paw Paddock a few months ago to coincide with my annual leave and because we were looking after a friend’s greyhound. I thought it would be a good opportunity to take our greyhound guest and our own grey to have some off lead time. Unfortunately, soon after I booked I read reviews that the field was uneven, stoney and had pieces of flint visible. I have kept an eye on the responses to the posts which said that Paw Paddock was doing its best to provide better quality grass. I was therefore interested to see how things were on our visit today. I was not able to see evidence of any work being done to improve the surface. Luckily, both greyhounds are older and were happy to mooch around whilst following us around the field perimeter so I did let them off lead. If either of them had shown any real excitement after we arrived I would have kept their leads on. This paddock, in its current state, is not safe for high speed sighthound zoomies. The ground is still very uneven and full of stones/flint. It is a real shame as the location and size of the...
Read more!!!!!!!!THIS FIELD IS NOT SAFE FOR DOGS TO PLAY!!!!! I met up with a fellow dog friend here today safe and secure entrance for the dogs and that's the only positive. I did notice it was stone and some stones were sharp so I just let the dogs do what they wanted no ball games just following us while we walking around the path. Even with this my poor dog sliced his pad open and is now limping around the house leaving blood spots everywhere luckily I have a good carpet cleaner. I don't know how a company like you can allow people to PAY and take their dogs here it's pretty disgusting that you allow this. THIS FIELD IS NOT SAFE FOR DOGS!!!!! i am not stupid enough to know that accidents won't happen but I should of known better after a walk around the field to leave. We did also find some glass in the path too.
AGAIN THIS IS NOT A SAFE FIELD FOR DOGS TO RUN ABOUT IN THERE ARE SHARP STONES FLINT WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO CALL THEM AVOID THIS PARTICULAR FIELD. anothe note I have use the paw paddock at Wickham and that field is a dream. AVOID THE...
