It's very tranquil are and you will find yourself emersed in nature. There is a free public car park, which makes it much easier to visit. Dogs are welcome, though they need to be kept on a lead at certain times due to nesting birds or algae in the water. There are benches all around the lake so you can relax and admire the view. Several of the benches are ornate in themselves, so they are lovely to sit on and the calm waters.
The area is child friendly. I visited with my son, who is one year old, and and my daughter, who is 3 years old. They both enjoyed the visit and were easily supervised during our time in this area.
The area has stunning views and ample space for my two young children to run about and explore. There are clear paths as well as woodland trails. The local wildlife is lovely to look at and makes the whole experience enchanting.
There are no nearby toilet facilities at this location so that will need to be factored into your visit to avoid any discomfort.
We have always found the area very accessible and a lovely place to visit. I have two young children who I take with me and I have never had a problem getting them out and about in this area. There are nice, safe spaces for them to walk and parking suitable...
Read moreHeath Lake is a beautiful spot for a walk and to appreciate some nature. The ground is very flat and the paths are generally quite broad, so it makes for an easy experience. There is a pleasant route that takes you through the wood around the edge of the lake. There are benches at various points along the route.
There is quite a variety of waterfowl on the lake, and on your walk around you’ll see plenty of birds either on the water or along the banks.
There are currently notices up warning of blue-green algae in the water. This is potentially harmful to humans (and dogs), so you (and your dogs) shouldn’t swim...
Read moreNice lake which has a good variety of birds. You can easily feed the ducks which are eager for human company simply as they know they can snag a good snack from the kids. This park seems very popular with dog walkers. Near the parking there was a lot of horse stuff, if you get my drift, so walk carefully. Finding the parking can be a bit difficult if you follow google maps as it tries to guide you directly to the lake instead of taking you to the car park. Would be a beautiful place to visit on a warm sunny day. Good place with fall...
