In a quick summary the visit was let down by the incredibly rude owner of the cafe. Which you will be able to see for yourself below, the owner has provided a very professional response, not dissimilar to how they speak to their customers on site.
In full, We paid £22 to enter the site which included an activity of pumpkin carving in the small indoor section where the soft play is. As the website clearly states that families are welcome to bring a picnic with them we decided we would as the only choice on the menu for anyone with a milk allergy and who is vegetarian or vegan was a jacket potato with beans (2 members of our party were vegan and 2 were veggie with a dairy allergy).
Unfortunately for us when we arrived it was raining which soon after turned to very heavy rain so we had no choice but to go indoors to allow the kids into the soft play and so we can buy hot drinks. They did have soy milk for the coffee which was good to see. Whilst inside we had our lunch as it was like a tropical storm outside, the cafe was really quiet and there were several available tables.
That's when the owner walks up with a horrified look on her face and went ridiculously over the top about eating our food in there (despite us buying drinks), she even complained that she had "eight tables do the same yesterday" so clearly this needs some signage to advise people and cant be that shocking to her. On top of this she went so far as to practically accuse some members of our party of lying! in her words "Coopland's don't do vegan food" (maybe she should pay a visit to one and she will see they have way more options than what her cafe was offering).
Now, I do understand her point and fully appreciate that if we were seated in the cafe area that was reserved for the cafe only, then we shouldn't have been there. However, there were lots of empty tables and there are no signs to say you cant eat your own food inside. Given this is the only indoor part you can use while raining and that you have to pay to be there you should be able to eat your own food somewhere inside during bad weather.
If the cafe owner had come across and pointed our mistake out to us like a civilised person we wouldn't have had such a negative experience but the way she spoke to our party was very berating and we were all shocked at the verbal scalding we received, even after apologising. We remained calm and apologised, asked where else we could go eat our food to which there was nowhere (!) and we also went on to buy cakes from the cafe for the whole party, as well as the drinks, but it's safe to say we will never return to Let Loose again. In the future please put up a sign to advise that although part of the attraction, own food cannot be consumed in that area to avoid others being humiliated and put off your setting.
Additionally, we had paid to do the pumpkin carving which when we asked about this we were informed of a time limit that had passed (which again was not very clearly disclosed beforehand). We were able to get 2 of the kids to do the activity however it was on 2 pumpkins that had already been partially done by someone else earlier in the morning which was quite disappointing.
Overall the day was spoiled by the cafe owner, and she should probably go on a customer relations course to help her learn some people skills and how to communicate to others without being rude. Her issue was the not the problem - her...
Read moreWe had a good (half) day out with a bunch of teenagers, although much of the facilities are younger geared. We booked as a birthday, although it wasn't, and got some food laid on with the group price! Everything feels safe and fun on the wires and all reported a good time. Excellent staff and atmosphere. They haven't marked it out, but the main dome area acts as a 'whispering gallery' which is lots of fun. Try standing three paces away from the entrance to the 'cubs' area and speaking normally. Freaky effect. Also, if two of you stand equidistant from the central point you can hear each other via echo. Great fun (although you sometimes get snatches of random conversations from other folk as a result!)
Possible improvements: not enough bins around - once we'd had a (takeout) coffee we had to wander back over to the cafe to bin the cup. space hoppers - a real blast from the past included free - but they need pumping up until really solid for safety reasons. only sign we saw for toilets was in the cafe and points sort of up a ramp when it means out of the door and up. More signs please, especially outside where there don't seem to be any. not many chairs in the dome. At busy times when weather is not so good this could be a problem. market the whispering spot. Put a circle on the ground and encourage people to try it out. Alternatively, tell people it's there and see if they can find the optimum position themselves...
All in all, well recommended attraction, although high wire stuff with all the supervision and safety equipment will never be that cheap. Once they get going and iron out the few wrinkles they'll have a good fun attraction there. Plan on it for a half day, not full though, and beware the lack of shelter and heated areas - on cold/windy days you...
Read moreFirstly our girls enjoyed the afternoon which was for one of there birthdays and the lady on reception was lovely ! I have to say though the website is very misleading!! Booking a slot of 2pm-5pm on the high ropes this was not the case , they didn't get on the ropes till about 2.40 due to harness's not ready and then someone not wanting to go round once at the top and clipped on, they then went round once and was told that was it and straight down the zip wire for £120 it was a bit insulating the website clearly states 1.5 hours on the high ropes? They got an hour and this was only because i went to the reception if not they would of had 30minutes and the attitude/tone my partner was greeted with by Peter at the top refusing they go round again wasn't the best, I did ask the lady at reception if they could go round once more and explained that they hadn't got on till late and it was their first visit and she sorted this for us thankyou very much it was greatly appreciated!! Come just before 4pm you could see the staff wanted to get off . Slide /tower closed emptying bins etc. come 4.15 the café was closed even though it wasn't suppose to until 4.30pm which meant after a lady asking she was given two free drinks as they'd turned the tills off....abit insulating when we'd just paid £11 in drinks at 4pm. In our time there from 12noon till leaving just before 5 i didn't see one table cleaned ,Even upon closing the chairs where turned up against the table but didn't see them cleaned. All in all the girls did enjoy the afternoon but I wouldn't rush to return based on my overall review , the place could be great !! It's definitely not a full day out unless you booked...
