Vance Creek County Park — Attraction in Aberdeen

We spend our summers here. The kids swim all day. It has a very nice slope so great shallow parts for young kids. There is not a lot of shade spots to sit on the side and see your swimmers. More shade spots further from the water. A great walking loop and the kids love to ride their bikes around. On the other side of the lake there is a rope swing. The teenagers seem to all gather at this spot, great for them. A couple pic nice tables and a covered pic in area. The second lake seems to be more for the boaters but always some people swimming. I would totally give this place 5 stars but some jerk was there the last time i went. And he was racing his speed boat up and down the lake causing big waves in the water where i was trying to fish. He had the audacity to get angry at me when i took pictures of his plates . Said he just got a new motor and he had to break it in. Then proceeded to tell me how i must think i own the lake. I have lived in Washington state for 30 years. I have driven to amd thru Elma a 100 times and I NEVER knew about this place until last weekend. Its beautiful. For the most part it was pretty clean. Great swimming area. Several covered picnic spot that are spread out nicely. Big play ground LOTS of room for the kids to run around. Unfortunately the bathrooms are shut down due a%$hole people catching it on fire. But there are porta potties. No drinkable water that i saw. 5/5 recommend we will definitely...
