Ames Park is a beautiful park to visit. its tucked away near a residential area and if you are not local, you would not know its here. We were told about it because of our friends we stayed with. The park is very nice and quiet with lots of clean and well maintained trails. the main trail around the entire pond is fantastic and very long. There are lots of tables as well for folks to have picnics and spend time with families. The pond has lots of fish, so there are always people out fishing all around the lake. Lots of parking as well.

This was a gorgeous hike and the pup loved every minute of it. The only issue my group had was that we could not hike the perimeter of the lake. The area north was completely washed out and marshy, and we just didn't have the right gear for it. If you want to complete the loop: - don't go right the day after a rainstorm - pants, not shorts (too many thorns) - waterproof boots That said, we enjoyed the park as fully as we could. Wonderful experience with plenty of Geocaching.

One of my absolute favorite places to be. Beautiful any time of year. The space is HUGH. Lots of options for trails, picnic tables, even cast iron grills for cooking. Fishing, and canoeing are also popular activities for this space. Great for walking, biking, dog walking. Trails vary in difficulty. Lots of public parking as well. My go to place for a nature recharge.

I grew up coming here as a child with my mom and dad. Now I have been sharing the experience with my kids for 18 years!!! We always have fun climbing the rocks, fishing, walking our pups, or playing by the water fall. It’s definitely my dogs favorite place to go and enjoy a peaceful walk. It’s absolutely beautiful and make you forget the craziness of the world.

Excellent park! Have never visited until yesterday despite living in the area for a long while. Massive pond along the trail that offers some nice views and picnic tables. Lots of dogs here. Some of the trail has a lot of tree roots going through so just be mindful. Muddy and standing water in some parts but nothing treacherous. Ample parking.
