Great dog beach in the Traverse area! We had a great experience here and so did the pups. We rented a shelter and it was a good space to setup our items and dog crates for the day. Water was crystal clear and beautiful. It's a little rocky but nothing water shoes can't help with. A couple things to note: to rent one of the shelters like we did, you have to MAIL a CHECK. I don't own checks because it's 2022 so I found this to be an issue. I sent a money order instead and that was ok. There was an area of the beach near us with lots of dead fish so we had to be careful to not let the dogs near them.

There is a large parking area for the boat ramp that requires a pass or fees but just after that on the right is another parking area for the park. There is a very small fishing dock next to the boat ramp and a really nice picnic area. If you are searching for a place to relax awhile then this is perfect but if you are hoping to collect amazing rocks... this isn't the place. There is a nice level carpool parking area near the top of the road making this a great place for those living life on the road to spend the day if they are going to use the carpool Lot for their overnight stay.

A really nice local park. It has close parking, bathrooms, picnic tables with a shelter, volleyball court, open areas, and some beach spots. The beach spots are smaller because of the high lake water and it can be busy because of the boat launch, so be prepared for extra traffic. Park area is open from dusk to dawn.

This day-use-only park is situated among the trees along the shore of Grand Traverse Bay. With several covered pavilions and numerous picnic tables, it's the perfect spot for a picnic or outdoor gathering! You can walk the shady paths, or swim and play in the water, or just relax in your chosen spot and soak it all in. And even though the water levels are high right now, you can still find some good spots along the sliver of beach to...
