5 stars for the park: Great park - very nice beach, picnic areas, grills, volleyball, etc. My husband and I have a kayak and enjoy going to grill out and also kayak around in the lake there. Very convenient and only $5.00 to get in.

2 stars for the folks at the entrance: They have been rude the times that we visited - emphasizing the fact that they shut the gate promptly at 9pm. I completely understand the need to close in a timely manner, but they could be more friendly about it. Once when we were there we were pulling out at 8:45pm, and the gate was closed and locked with no one in sight. We had to go and knock on the host's camper to let us out, which of course they were not happy about - But they locked the gate earlier than they had told us. The next time we came (around 5pm) the man again rudely emphasized the closing time, even saying if we weren't out on time that he would call the trooper. This was very unnecessary as we gave no indication that we wouldn't be out on time.

Overall, we have enjoyed our times at Proctor Landing, but feel that they could improve...

Our niece had rented a pavilion for a child's birthday party. Upon arrival discovered the entire area a complete mess. Trash throughout the floor , grill full of old ashes and a mostly full trashcan. Tracked down some park employees and informed them of the situation. Eventually two employees showed up and rectified the situation but considering the price of the pavilion, this should not have occurred. Sketchy leadership but Thanks to the 2 employees who came to do someone else's job. We had a great time until another party showed up and moved into the pavilion thinking that they had the right to. What's wrong...

I'm really torn over this place. I've lived right up there street from proctor landing beach for 20 years. I've seen an increase of people who don't care about the beach, about other people, about the environment slow grow. It's mainly on the weekends and holidays. Just yesterday I walked through the park with my youngest daughter. We saw attest 3 dirty dipers and allot of trash left behind by the visitors. It is just ashame that people are that way. The place itself is awesome. I'm so lucky to have bought my house there. The people that are stationed there to manage the beach are always great. A big thank...

Proctor Landing is a beautiful park with a beach and marked swimming area. There are picnic tables scattered around, with trails leading to them so you don't have to tramp through the woods to get to them (though that is still an option). Each picnic area has its own grill, and the tables are on concrete pads. There are also a couple of large shelters with multiple grills and plenty of tables for a family gathering. It does cost a little more than the average State park ($10 vs. $5) but the beach and facilities are worth it.

I recently visited Proctor Landing Park with my family and had a fantastic experience. We brought our kayaks along, and the park provided excellent facilities for launching and exploring the water. The $10 fee was reasonable, considering the amenities and services offered. One thing to note is that they only accept credit card payments, so make sure to bring one along. Overall, I highly recommend Proctor Landing Park for a fun-filled day out with family and friends.

FYI - it costs $10 to park, and it is credit card only. No cash. Important thing to know before showing up! Once you're in, it's a great little park to bring the family for a day of playing in the water and lying on the beach. There are plenty of picnic tables to eat at, too! Nice energy here. Could have been cleaner, though. Please don't trash our parks! 🙏
