I would give it 6 stars if i could!

The old carriage road leading up the mountain has been well worn by the footsteps of happy groups of hikers. Motor vehicles are no longer allowed on the path up the mountain but the trail is very accessible for hikers of all ages, making it an excellent choice for a family hike.

Your effort up the mountain will be rewarded. At the summit, you will find the foundation of the former Grandview Hotel, which was built in 1870. The hotel was lost in a fire in 1925 but the breathtaking views of the Champlain Valley and Adirondack Mountains remain.

⏰️ Most people spend about an hour hiking up and a little under an hour hiking down. Budget at least 20 minutes to enjoy the view at the topπŸ•‘

πŸ₯ͺ Pack a lunch box and enjoy a picnic at the top 🍎

πŸ’§ Stay hydrated. Bring plenty...

Great trail! Decent amount of off street parking near the trail head, with a sign pointing you in the right direction. Took us a little over an hour to go up and about 50 minutes to head down in. Ton of fun! At most a moderate hike, anyone who is even marginally in-shape should tackle this with no problem. Our dog had a blast (all but 1 dog was leashed, which is the respectful thing to do).

The views at the top are great, overlooking a large portion of the Champlain valley!...

This is an awesome hike anytime of the year minus mud season. Mud season the trail tends to be closed and not recommended for a hike. I tend to take the local route which is located off of Snake Mountain rd vs the trail everyone uses on mountain rd. When hiking from the east side it takes you threw the cranberry bogs as well as the trail is better maintained. Snow shoeing this trail is awesome during the winter and gives you some awesome views of the lake...

Great hike for everyone on a easy old carriage road to the summit. Touristy place but the back trail loop is seldom used and goes through a grest area of the mountain and ridges. This mountain was once a island in the ancient version of Lake Champlain during the glacier melt. Originally was a Graben valley as the lamd dropped into a fault zone forming the basin that later filled with sea water then glacier fresh water melt.
