The Hideaway at Bullard Estates — Attraction in Adel

Me and my now Wife got engaged on the property 2 months prior to us getting married there on 8/7/2021. While planning the engagement and the wedding, the owner Chad Bullard along with his awesome crew he has maintaining the property we're the most awesome and helpful people we could have ever asked for!! If I needed more fans or forgot to bring an extension cord one of his guys was always around to help me get what I needed. Their golf cart wasn't around at the time so they let us use their personal Polaris Ranger to Get around as the property is quite large. They do such an excellent job at trying their best to make your day is the best as possible! They put champagne, goodie bags, and even hand written letters in your cottage. Their bridal cottage is amazing and the man cave was something else! All of my groomsmen had a blast in the man cave playing darts, mini basketball, Foosball, and ping pong! Their pool is awesome for everyone to get together after a long day of setting up or just relaxing before the big day. Our wedding got rained on twice unfortunately but we had the most beautiful rainbow right after! Their crew was right there helping us change out wet linens and to just help dry things off. If I could leave zero stars, I would! Let me start by saying that the venue is beautiful and this review has nothing to do with that. My issue is the fact that we had to cancel our wedding and I have been being avoided ever since while trying to get my $7,500 I put down on the venue. I canceled our reservation well over a year in advance ( a year and four months to be exact) and was told I would be getting most of my money back ($6,250) seeing as we canceled so far in advance. I was told that if the venue got rebooked for that weekend then I would get the whole amount back ($7,500). I have tried calling and texting Chad over and over again to resolve this but he never returned my phone calls or reply’s to my messages.

If you book here, for gods sake I hope everything goes through because it is a beautiful venue, but if it doesn’t, you might as well forget about getting any of...

The venue was beautiful, however the gnats were unbearable. There were thousands of gnats constantly in your face, mouth, ears and in your clothes. When the food was served the poor caterers had to stand there and fan the food to try and keep the gnats off, meanwhile I was trying to get food and keep the gnats out of my face. The venue only provided one industrial size fan at the entire venue to try and keep the gnats away which was a joke.
