El Mirage Lake — Attraction in Adelanto

My husband and I have been camping here since early 1970. We just ended up there while looking another place in the dark, and decided to pull over and sleep. Before the sun came up we were awoken by dirt bikes racing around us sleeping on the ground in our sleeping bags. We were so pleased with the atmosphere that we've been going back with our family, gear, and toys ever since. It's a beautiful place to visit, but we've seen many bad injuries, so make sure you bring enough water and a phone, just in case someone has an accident, or needs...

What can I say? There's no reason to visit this place unless you're shooting a music video or have a lot of desert toys to ride. Lot's of heat, desert mites and sun. Bring 2 quarts of water per person /our if you're going to be outside in the sun expending energy. Do not schedule a music video shoot her in the summer. Just in case someone listened to the idiots who say this is a fine place for shooting: "The El Mirage OHV Area is a NO SHOOTING AREA. This includes BB guns, paint guns, and bow & arrows" This is supposed to be a safe place for landsailing. Why do u need an ultra flat terrain and a wind basin to shoot guns unless you're an idiot? There are so many places to go shoot and to drive atvs over real burms... unless you're a child who is learning, or u need training wheels,...
