Afton Iowa park is a quaint town square park. It is a representation of small towns and middle America everywhere. It has the swings,water features, and the old band stand was one of my favorite features of the park. It is smack dab in the middle of town (hence town square park). My girls and I took my grandson to the park waiting for the derby to start and my girls had a lot of flash backs. We lived in Thayer for years and the Afton park was always a fun treat for them. They played as hard as my grandson did. A little more tiring for me of course but I made a day of it feeding the birds day...
