I was looking for a park less than a mile from my daughter's house and this was the first result. I remember going to softball tournaments with my parents when I was little and it was called Sweetwater. My seven-year-old grandson absolutely loved this park ,it was clean and they had plenty of equipment for the kids to play on. I don't have a dog but they had little bags and stations to clean up waste available if you did bring your pet to the park it looked like there was a walking trail and plenty of things to do. I also love that they had a few of the bench swings that adults could sit on and relax near the playground as well. We had a wonderful time.

It's pretty clean and seems safe to walk with your dogo. It would be cool if they had more access to the water way. Along with a couple more benches for eating close to the water and a couple swing but in a way that it won't disturb the areas where water does rise.

First time coming to this park -- we have visited almost every park in Aiken since moving here and we did enjoy it. My issue is that the trashcan was SO FULL that it was overflowing -- I can't imagine that it got THAT full from just one day.... So people literally left their trash EVERYWHERE. I had to use one of the Dollar General bags to walk around and pick it all up -- at least 15 bottles, wrappers from random things, bottle tops that small children could and would pick up and possibly swallow it ... I understand this says a lot more about the trashy humans that go there and decide to use a childrens park to leave their unwanted trash BUT there HAS to be someone who comes to collect the trash... I should be enjoying my time with my kid, not worrying about picking up liter that is covering the playground.

My fiance and I unfortunately had to move away from Beaufort SC last year to live with my inlaws for a bit ... And comparing the two, Aiken is disgusting. I'm sorry, but it is. I've never seen so much trash littering the roadways. It's EVERYWHERE down Highway 1. You don't see it as much in the downtown area but it's still there... It was RARE that I saw ANY trash ANYWHERE in Beaufort. If something was on the highway the day I'm driving down it, it wasn't there the next day. They had pride in their town and community and I wish Aiken would do the same. It's on main highways and back roads and just all over the place. It's heartbreaking to see especially since Aiken is a quaint little town. Anyways, rant over -- this is about the park.

Other than the trash, it was fun for my 7 year old. She enjoyed the swings and playground (although some of the equipment needs to be fixed, it had police tape on it). There is a quaint little creek that's right next to it that reminds me of my childhood - I believe it's a water trail you can kayak on but I am not 100% sure. There are pickleball courts and basketball courts and kids and adults were playing which I love to see because more often than not, kids are glued to some kind of electronic device. This is why I think the upkeep of the parks are important because it encourages people to visit more. If they would handle the trash issue (I didn't even use the bathroom so I can't comment on that but I can only imagine) it would be a really nice park for kids and adults to enjoy. There are lights for when it becomes dusk but not near the park area so we did have to leave. We left this park to go to Langley Park near the water and minus a few water bottles for kids (not the throw away kind) it was spectacularly clean. Trash cans were emptied, no trash on the ground or play area.... It was an absolute delight to spend our evening there. Parks in town should take notes on whoever does the...

This is my local park & I've been going here for years. It has a walking track, a tennis court, a basketball court, 3 softball/baseball fields, batting cages and some soccer fields. It also has a small playset for younger children. It is also located by a little creek. They have been doing a lot of remodeling & renovating during the past year. You can visibly see where they use their funds to make improvements. The park is well kept. You can rent/reserve fields for games or practices. It is also very community friendly as they usually allow different groups to hold events there. I've seen the concession stand open sometimes when there were soccer games, there is an annual Easter Egg hunt there, the North Augusta rock group held a swap there, and many families like to hold birthday parties there. During the off season, sometimes the softball fields aren't always completely kept up. One or two of the fields may be missing bases or a pitching rubber, but another field usually will have it. It is still a great...
