Best place to get on the towpath trail- there’s a real restroom that is cleaned regularly. Police or rangers monitor it frequently. There’s a dog park and soccer fields off to the side. The one downside- the dog park trail runs parallel to the towpath so it’s common dog walkers don’t bother to use a leash even when they’ve crossed over onto the towpath

Great trail to the north and south...unpleasant sewer gas hits you in certain spots, which is the reason for the missing 5th star. Other than that, I enjoyed the historical points of interest and the wooded trails that connect to this one. Great new parking area with clean restrooms.

Love this entrance to the Towpath. If you go left (facing the trail from the parking lot), there is a really nice place to sit and listen to/watch the river that is a little over a mile from the trailhead.

Nice area to stroll in nature alongside the Cuyahoga River within Akron. As of March 2020 there is still construction in the parking lot, but plenty of parking at BARC. The trail is level packed sand and light gravel; it's good for a hybrid bike or a stroll with the kids and/or dog.

If you're dog lover but not a dog owner it's great! Plenty of dogs to love up and not clean after.

My only complaint is you find a lot of dog poop bags abandoned on or near the trail. I admit there is a lack of conveniently located waste receptacles; however I wish all dog walkers were as responsible as the majority of dog...

There's a new memorial in place here which honors the three people who died rescuing others decades ago. When a water main let tons and tons of water loose from the top of the hill, many people and cars were trapped or swept away into the river. Several people jumped into the raging waters to rescue others, and three people lost their lives. There is now a granite memorial with their faces carved into the side with their names. It's very moving to read the story and understand why Memorial Parkway is...

Why is the parking area blocked off? Walking the Buckeye trail (see my on YouTube walking for mental health awareness, channel Megan Sauln). This was where I ended my 16 miles for the day and was picked up, but the parking area was ropped off with cones and caution tape.... for absolutely ZERO reason, people had moved the cones and were parking g there anyways. It's a lovely location right off...
