Summit Lake Trailhead — Attraction in Akron

Gorgeous! I lived at Summit Lake 30 years ago. Went for a walk with a friend this Monday( Eclipse Day)and couldn't get over the improvements they have done. On a whim I ducked into the Community Center and asked if they possibly would have a pair of eclipse glasses. The very warm and personable employee( African American woman) said yes she did and did I want a few. Wow! She was telling me about all the changes they have done and all the plans they have for the future. So beyond excited they have actually implemented some of those plans. People were talking about these dreams when I was moving out of the neighborhood that long time ago.So happy things are...

Beautiful lake! Many beautiful views for picture taking. Paved flat trail excellent for anyone INCLUDING persons with physical limitations. Fishing pier. Nice play areas for kids! I understand there is a bridge that I didn't have time to go on today but that I am looking forward to checking out the next time I go. I hope people in this area appreciate what they have...

We had a community canning class at Summit Lake. We had a slow start due to the larger kitchen stove not working but we were redirected to a smaller kitchen and everything ran smoothly.
