We had our son 2nd birthday party there and it was the perfect spot and free at that everybody had a blast. The only problem was the old man telling questioning us as soon as we pulled up asking us what we are doing here. Then we tell him we have a party and he tells us to pull our car down to the pavilion to unload then 5 mintues later tells us to move it then literally 2 mintues later turns around and tells us "Oh you can pull your car down there to unload but you can't park unless your handicap" lol just wow. Then he consistently kept riding back and forth telling us we needed to put our balloons up because a storm was coming (it was 95 and sunny outside) now granted the storm was 3 hours away but to tell us what we had to do Haha. Then thur out the party he kept riding up telling us oh y'all have to get ready a storm is coming lol. Literally he was telling us to leave without telling us to leave but he comes off like he just would prefer if NOBODY came...

Loved the location but not the discriminatory employee. Just because two gay guys go swimming together doesn't mean they are doing anything. We were out in the water 5 feet apart looking at fish minding our own business when their employee shouted at us to get out of the water. Couldnt even wait for us to get out before hes yelling some bs about us hugging up on each other. When we asked what he was talking about he asked again but changed it to are you hugging up on each other or are you wrestling?

I dont find either appropriate out in public but apparently if we hugged it was a problem but if we were wrestling it would be ok? Wth. Even the other families asked him what his deal was. We had been there for 3 hours minding our own business and this guy had been driving down and spying on us the whole time getting on everyone's nerves.

Loved the location but may not be the best place...

So, so very disappointed in this place and the park attendant. We arrived 3 hours before the park closed from Tallassee, Alabama. 180 entire minutes. My husband left work early in order to make the near hour trek up here. We arrive at 4:56 PM only for the park attendant to tell us that he was going home because he was not going to stick around for three people, and that they were not going to pay him to do that. Additionally, he suggested we park at the boat ramp, with the facetious remark that we could “stay until the police get here and see what they say”. Are you serious? Two law abiding citizens, one a member of the Armed Forces and two children. I’m appalled. I would really like a response from someone whom I can launch a formal complaint to to have this gentleman reprimanded or otherwise removed from evenings...

Clear water. Warm. Beautiful. Clean. Family friendly. Picnic tables, grills, pavilions, restroom/changing room, outdoor shower to rinse off. Enjoyed swimming and picnicking mid September 2025. East parking. Shady and sunny areas for picnic spots. Little docks/piers available for fishing. Little fish swimming around you and freshwater shells. Cool rocks.

Perfect spot to swim with clean restrooms and pavilions. There is also a new playground that the kids will surely love. There are also plenty of trails and chances to reconnect with nature, go kayaking, and in general just chill, which isn't all that way to do in the middle of an Alabama summer.

We came from Montgomery to enjoy some swimming and fishing with the kids. No fish caught, but got rained out of swimming in the water by the weather. We definitely enjoyed the little time we were there and will definitely make it a family weekend spot.
