The trail COULD be a decent trail with some effort put into it......BUT...Trail markers and the lack of trail markers along the trail makes staying on the trail you choose difficult. The last 4-5mi of the big trail are spent walking alongside the road🤷♂️...so be prepared for trash and dead fish from the boat landing nearby...Smaller trails zig-zag and loop so much, you can literally see the other 3 trails you just walked....feels like you're walking in a circle🤦♂️. The "Bridge" isn't on the trail at all, it's on the closed road that runs alongside the trail.....So if you're looking for an average trail to walk/jog/bike then here ya go, just be careful, lots of downed trees.....if you want scenery for pics and all that then...
Read moreA great place to bring kids and people who are new to the great outdoors. There's no real danger here except for the occasional snake and it's literally impossible to get lost. There is an abundance of flora and will keep a botanist or wildcrafter quite busy. There are a few hills but nothing that you can't handle even if you're out of shape. The entire trail is shaded except for the few areas that cross a power line. If you're a hiker then look out for mountain bikers. Read moreThe wife and I love to walk the trails at Swayback! There's approximately 11 miles of trails broken up into 5 different paths of varying lengths. These trails are for running, walking, or mountain biking. We always try to go early in the morning before anyone is there. This way we usually get to see a bit of wildlife while strolling through the woods. Deer, rabbits, squirrels, possums, and sometimes an owl or two can be found while hiking the trails.
