The Earthquake Park was very fascinating. 1964 was an earthquake in Earthquake Park. It's also revered to the Good Firday Earthquake. There were 9 casualties 7 were from earthquake park. Most of the residents in the town were at church. All of the homes in the area sank due to the blue clay that is underneath the area. Homes built on Earthquake Park. There's a blue clay underneath where the houses were built. The blue clay liquefied during the earthquake and enveloped all of the home. The homes are there buried along with 7 inhabitants who are still there. There's 2 fault lines next to each other. The fault line with the blue clay is directly off of the paved road, which is directly next to the blue clay fault. The landscape is a rolling landscape that is a sponge...

Earthquake park was highly underwhelming and a bit too hyped up for what it really is. The walk to the observation area is very short which is great, but the view of the ocean is entirely shrouded by trees and is a missed opportunity for an amazing view. The park has many options for hikers of varying skill levels, but nothing for moderately practiced folks, it caters to the two extremes. There are no public restrooms or nearby establishments in which to use the restroom, and because of this alone I would say that it's not great to bring kids here. There is no play structure which is another reason, but there are alot of benches at the observation area and a picnic area which is a...

A beautiful park that provides a window on local history, geology, and the site of the the largest earthquake in North America in 1964. There is plenty of informative signage and trail paths that follow the landslides. This is also a great place to take pics of Denali and the Alaska range. I was told there might be wildlife there - saw plenty of moose droppings but no moose! While I was there in the winter, I saw plenty of people cycling, running and I have hear that you can also cross country skiing as the park connects to the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. Probably a great place for a picnic in the summer as well! There are a few parking areas for cars and buses. Definitely a place worth...
