Beautiful. I believe we went through this on our way to Haines from Whitehorse. I'll take a look and see if I have any pix and add them later. If you're in this neck of the woods (pun intended 😀), this part of Alaska is well worth the experience.
Haines is a beautiful little town with some very fine restaurants and fun pubs (pretty sure I've reviewed them in the past). As with all places up north though , be prepared to pay premium dollar for accommodations, mainly because the money making season is so short. The place we stayed at was nice and clean but we were paying $175 USD a night for basically an up market motel room. That said though, even though that is more the rule than the exception, the sheer beauty of the area makes it well worth it.
All in all though, at the least this should be a bucket list travel item, whether you're coming in from Whitehorse (like us and recommend), cruise ship, or by ferry from Skagway....

The staff is simply the best we've ever experienced... Knowledgeable, friendly, over and above the norm.... You could tell they love what they do and they know what that are doing. Great personalities and great sense of humor. The adventure begins with a 40 minute boat ride fiilld with Alaska'd beauty. They stopped at a beautiful water fall for us to photograph. We saw seal, seas Lions, eagles and other birds, a whale was seen... It was wonderful. When you arrive near the Glacier, there is a short bus ride, and a short walk to the canoes we paddled up stream for about 10 minutes... We even got to walk the river Delta to the nearest point to the Glacier.... Again, the views were fabulous. I highly recommend...
