Current weather conditions, May 6, 2024, at the Murie Science & Learning Center / Denali Winter Visitor Center: Snow! When visiting Denali National Park & Preserve you may be surprised by the variations in weather. Spring weather in late April and early May can see highs into the 40s or 50s F, and lows near or below freezing. If you’re interested in checking the current weather at the Denali Visitor Center, you can access the Sleeping Grizzly Webcam here: https://www.nps.gov/dena/learn/photosmultimedia/berry.htm NPS Video Alt Text: Video of the Murie Science & Learning Center / Denali Winter Visitor Center entrance area and American Flag with falling snow flakes.

A must place to stop for information, photo ops, educational material, and its relevance to those who want their National Park Passport get stamped. Also, the place to lease (borrow) gear for snowshoeing. Across the street is another building where you can have a meal (we have packed lunch) while watching short films about Denali Sled Dog. There are 2 park staff that answer questions and provide needed information. The place is small but with a clean restroom. I am glad they have a place such as this for wintertime.

Very educational and entertaining visit for kids and adults alike. Short walk from the visitors center - just follow the dinosaur foot prints! For people collecting stamps in their passport, there as an extra stamp spot here! It was less busy than the main visitors area and it has dinosaur fossils. Educational displays on the flora and fauna of the area as well as bathrooms for visitors. This was a great small side trip on our visit to Denali.

Guy on duty was very knowledgeable and nice. Place was empty because of the off season, but cute little gifts at really good prices. Got a few postcards and a magnet, but they had books, shirts, bumper stickers, and stuffed animals, too. There was a ton of info about the animals you will see in the park. Also had a few fossils on display, which was neat! We'd go back if we had questions...
