We had a one hour journey end March 2023. Brittany welcomed us and ensured we had the right clothing if someone had failed to bring such. We were lead subsequently to the sleigh and Jessica our musher. A six time participant in the 938 miles all Alaskan Iditarod race. Jessica explained what it takes to get the dogs ready and performing. Their individual Idiosyncrasies, their food, resting needs etc. Jessica is a great coach on leadership. She understands to perfection what it takes for the dogs to perform, not much difference for those of us who lead teams. We trailed through the gorgeous winery landscape and had a stop for passengers to take some pictures and the dogs to hydrate in the snow. Jessica made some very nice pictures of us as we were bundled up under the thick cover to keep us warm. She maneuvered the sleigh with great ease despite the hard work it takes to ensure the ride to be smooth and allow the huskies to perform. Each and every dog has its own character which was very obvious. The dogs were very gentle. An incredible amount of care goes into looking after the dogs. The musher cooks fresh food for the dogs to enjoy and treats when appropriate. An experience not to be missed! Thanks team at Paws for adventure, you...
Read moreUnfortunately the experience was below the expectation compared to other reviews. We had booked a dog sledding experience on 12/24/23 - the whole session is only 40min as compared to the 50min+ advertised on the website. Also the tour guide doesn’t seem interested in sharing any information/ stories about dog sledding (got very short responses for the questions we asked). We booked the one hour experience because it is supposed to be informational and full hour long- apparently what we got is not matching to what is advertised on website. We wrote complaint email to the company that evening , and the responses was not helpful and feels like they blame us for not showing our interest to learn more about dog sledding (which we actually did by asking questions after the ride). Further, the company stopped responding after we provide more details about our experience, which is very disappointing . hence I decided to post the genuine review publicly. Overall - the dogs are cute and the ride is fine- however we paid a lot more for the one hour experience and didn’t get the full hour informational service as advertised. My advice is - If you are interested in dog sledding here , maybe just go for the half an...
Read moreThe perfect Alaska experience! We arrived early to meet the dogs & it was great. We were welcomed by the howling of the dogs when we pulled into the parking area. We went into the heated yurt to check in and had some friendly conversation and met a retired sled dog. After getting situated with loaner winter gear -- snow pants, parkas and boots (at no additional cost), we went outside to the kennels. Working with the two staffers (probably slowing them down more than anything), we harnessed the dog team one by one. After hooking up we were off for our ride through the woods and fields surrounding the kennels. Our musher was friendly and knowledgeable. He took time to make stops and talk about dog sledding. He took our photo with the dogs during a break along the trail.
Upon returning to the kennel we were able to walk around freely to say hello to all of the dogs on the property. It was as enjoyable for us as it was for the dogs. Everyone at Paws -- people and dogs -- were friendly! The price was very reasonable, lower than some other places, and it was worth every penny and more.
Thanks for a great experience during our...
