The drive along Seward Highway is beautiful all year (these photos are from January). There are pullovers every couple of miles. The Chugach Mountains are staggeringly beautiful. Give yourself 90 minutes round trip at least - the variety of views is relentless and you’ll find yourself saying, “Oh, keep going around that next bend,” over and over.

Just outside of Anchorage you'll find a bend of such stunning and picturesque beauty it will leave a mark on you forever. Sit and watch the largest northern bore tide bordered by mountains. Not to mention the incredible power of Cook Inlet. Its just massive.

I love the Seward Highway. Sometimes we see bears, dull sheep walking along the road. You never know what will wash ashore the Turnagsin Arm either.

Once you leave Anchorage you're really in Alaska, on this road.

The Seward Hwy to Girdwood and the Alyeska Resort: skiing and snowboarding outside of Anchorage. Easily one of a kind drive parallel with the water and GIANT mountains out your windows. Very scenic. Bird Creek to Girdwood - amazing paved trail for biking and running! Visit "The Ice Cream Shop" at Girdwood Exit or continue to...

Most beautiful drive around a scenic bay. When Captain Cook first explored this bay aka Arm, they had to constantly turn the sails left and right ti go straight due to the winds. Hence the name, Turn Again. Bring binoculars so you can see the V shaped valleys formed by snow melt and the U shaped valleys formed by...
