Beautiful hike though what looked like Boreal forest with a river crossing in a hand tram and a couple of wood bridges you can cross.

Hike is suitable for almost any age. It's only 1 mile to the hand tram and if you just want to experience that you can do a 2 mile loop and head back. Longer hikes are available to the Aleyska resort and further up canyon.

Mosquitoes were minimal and I didn't see much wildlife. Lots of interesting mushrooms if you keep your eyes peeled. The trail is very popular so if you want to do the hand tram under your own power you'll need to get there really early.

There's a bus that will take you from the nearby town to the trailhead. This is a nice option as the...

This was such a unique experience.

There are two ways to do this trail. One is behind hotel aleyska but that would take hiking 2 miles to get to the tram. We mostly wanted to experience the tram only so we chose this route which is essentially doing the same trail but from opposite direction. It took us around 1 mile hike to get to the tram.

The hike was normal easy hike. It took us around an hour to hike 1 Mile, reach the tram and hike back 1 mile.

Tram experience was awesome. Pulling it with your hands, it slowly moving and also being slightly wobbly, then passing over a river was awesome. There was a group of rafters launching their...

Beautiful trail through this temperature rainforest. Trail is very well maintained, and the creek running through it is beautiful. The hand tram was closed when we went on our hike, which was disappointing. It appeared as if it had been closed for quite a while as the reason given was Covid. If the tram was up, and you could do the entire hike, I would likely give this one five stars. UPDATE: According to news articles, the hand tram is likely to be closed permanently, and there are discussions about putting in a bridge...
