Always love coming here, it's a pretty spot and the views on a clear day are great. Right now the leaves are staring to turn and in a couple of weeks, fall color will be amazing from here! There are few ways to get up to the Pulpit rock: the ide gravel access road that leads past the observatory is the shortest (it's goes up pretty steeply though), the more picturesque way is to follow the AT to the right at the junction after crossing the first bridge. Read moreBeautiful spot for a nice day hike, and it's not too difficult of a hike. The hike begins tough with an upward-inclined service road that leads to the trail, but then it's not too bad going on the trail to Pulpit Rock until you're almost there, where you need to do a bit of a rock scramble. When you get to the lookout, though, it's totally worth it! We've seen raptors flying around, which is very peaceful and beautiful, and there are great views of the valley below.

You can follow the easy trail/ road there for the observatory or there is a path marked in red to go up the mountain side. Either will get you to the top but in a steep incline.
