A pleasant surprise and still accessible even in the winter ❄️🥶. The bridge is closed to vehicle traffic in the winter but you can walk across it and access the trails, especially if you want to go cross country skiing. Observing the moving and frozen Swift River with its photographic views actually made me wish I had more time to explore the area even though it was 14° and it would occasionally snow 🌨️. There is a "bathroom" available and the parking 🅿️ lot was plowed with plenty of parking spaces. People were having fun and two men were 🫸 pushing each other into the snow ❄️! There is a fishing 🎣 pier nearby but it is drydocked in the winter. You will have to pay for parking 🅿️ when the area reopens. It is $5 per vehicle 🚜 and you can use a NH State gift card for payment as well. Part of my "bucket 🪣 list" is to visit as many covered bridges as possible. If it is part of your list, I...

We chose one of our three days base camped in Portland Maine — to do a daylong excursion in nearby New Hampshire. We selected the White Mountains National Forest as our destination. The route we took was beautiful with several places to pull over for a scenic overlook, trail-head or camping area.

The Albany Covered Bridge is just off the main parkway. You can park nearby and walk through, around and under for some great photo ops. We also drove through the bridge and took the one lane road for a loop of an equally impressive visual feast — great colors, brooks, the...

Very beautiful place. Especially during Autumn season. New Hampshire is a very very heavenly place when it comes to Autumn season. So please donl visit here . There's a small river which runs below the bridge and it's very clean. So please maintain the cleanliness here... The only thing is there's no food place nearby so you'll need to carry your food here if thinking of spending a day...the Boulder trail is nearby ...it will take 3 hours to complete the entire trail. It's uphill trail and it's very good. But easy one.... Carry lots of water because you'll not get...

Your last, or alternatively first stop on the Kancamagus is the Albany Bridge which stretches over the Swift River. There’s a parking area right off the Kanc, or drive over the bridge and take a right for another trailhead parking area. There several spots along the river to catch photos, you can also walk across the bridge. If you are driving the Kanc from Boston, it can be shorter to turn around here and head back to 93 rather than loop around, but if you have time Conway and Tamworth have shops & restaurants to check out
