The Pogue Creek Canyon area has only recently had paths added to ease access. From the parking lot, the path is a relatively easy loop that takes to you an overlook of the east end of the canyon. It is nice, but the real treat is to take the side path that goes down into the canyon. It is strenuous because there are several serious elevation changes along this path (about 1,500 feet, several times). The path itself is not difficult. You'll go along cliff faces, through a "fat man's squeeze", crossing streams several times. Be sure to take some of the side branches, such as the path to see the Circle Bar Arch. The Kildare arch at the far end is spectacular. The overlook at the end of the path is gorgeous. The trail only goes in about four miles so far and it is worth the time to see it.
