I've played all 18 holes once and just the front 9 two other times. The course has matured from the first time I played it when it had first opened and the course is maintained by people who care, it was in very good shape. The staff is friendly and helpful. They've also recently upgraded their golf carts and are very comfortable and have GPS(accurate), scorecard and other information on nice sized screens.
Where the course falls short imo. Power lines run through part of the course along with winding through a neighborhood which is a draw back. When it comes to the course and layout, though again it is kept in great shape, the course is very plain. Tee to greens are very straight and the greens don't stand out.
Unfortunately like most courses after it rains this course doesn't handle water well. It happened to rain 3/4 hours before we played and most sand traps had puddles and fairways were soggy. Make sure you play on a dry day.
For the other courses I've played in Minnesota and out of state I don't believe the cost of playing is equivalent to the experience of playing at Cedar Creek.
Personal pet peeve(at most courses) Golf cart cost for a solo golfer - $18(18 holes)
2 golfers in the same cart - $36; I believe that to be a shady practice. I guess you have to make money anyway you can.
It comes down to choices, that's why I'll more than likely only play this course a couple times a year at most. There are better options within a 20...
Read moreI/we frequent Cedar Creek and its sister course Riverwood. It’s a slight jaunt from Maple Grove but always worth the trip. However today after doing 18 holes at 10:56 our foursome wants to do another nine. Three walkers, one cart, all seniors. . $28.99 for 18 holes is reasonable but an additional nine after 2:00 and before their 4:00 twilight was $28.99. This is such a ripe off for the obvious price gouging equal to 18 holes walking, but also where’s the incentive to a golfer just wanting to enjoy another nine, give the course some additional revenue and building a reputation for the game of golf! Also twilight starting a 4:00 is really a push to get 18 holes in under three hours. 3:00 is twilight is other reputable courses nearby. Sorry but Cedar Creek you’ve lost points and others beware. I hope your sister course doesn’t follow suit, which I confirmed isn’t...
Read moreThey didn’t book our tee time when we called the night prior, they said they would squeeze us in and get us onto the course but then we’re pushing our squeeze 4 -some to the point we had to pick up or balls and move to the next hole afte which we were waiting at the tee box the rest of the way through.. and on one hole we even waited for a guy to “play pool” for his putt! Felt rushed from the start being a “squeeze in” when we shouldn’t have been, and then just got worse o. The back 9 when they made us pick up and move to the next hole! will...
