If one thinks of a beach.....this is what they think of! It is a hidden jem (so I was hesitating on writing this!) Amongst beaches. You pay per person to enter the park, and it was super reasonable! The drive to get to it can be a little wonky, but you just keep going then you are there. The parking lots are away from the beach and up in elevation...but they have an area for dropping off stuff and people right near the beach, then you can go park. They do also have a fully submersible wheelchair available! Along with what looked like a hand sanitizer station...but it was for and had sunscreen in case you needed any! The beach itself has the softest sand and the longest reach! No lifeguards are on duty so it is swim at your own risk. People had all sorts of floats they were using also. Along with beach umbrellas, chairs, tents etc. The softest sand ever greats you as you enter the water. Being such a large body of water, ocean like waves (but not to big) delited me and kids. It also is such a gradual decent into deeper water, that The little kids were able to go out soooo far before it would get to deep for them. The lengthy beach was nice, you could go so far away from other people and have an area to yourself if you wanted. The beach itself has some picnic tables first come first use. They do have a few small changing rooms and bathrooms. Along with a newer playground at the beach entrance. Overall one of the best...

This is really nice beach. No seaweed to walk through to get out to an area over your head! Not a lot of grills to use, but they do have some. The beach was clean and you really have a lot of area of beach line to spread out from other people. The water was clear and no sign of blue algae or other gross things floating in the water. My family and I really, really enjoyed ourselves. Great for those kids 5 and under. People of all ages were there and people really seemed to respect the social distancing. It is a bit far distance wise, but it was worth the trip!!! The surrounding area was pleasant and views beautiful. So glad we tried a new beach area. This one was a pleasant surprise! Yes, I recommend it reluctantly, because I hope it doesn't become too popular and over crowded so my family and I can still go there as one of our family favorite...

I heard good things about this small state park and decided to check it out. It was about an hours drive from home. Unfortunately, we arrived to find out part of the beach was closed due to elevated E. Coli levels. We decided to go anyways and avoid the "closed" section of the beach. Upon entering the water there was clearly signs of a blue green algae (cyanobacteria) bloom in the "open" areas of the beach. No warning signs were posted, and about a hundred people were in the water, including toddlers, so I alerted the staff and they responded quickly with posting warning signs.

I will say the park is clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately the blue-green algae is a problem around the lake, and not just here. I would suggest calling ahead to see what the water conditions are like so you don't waste your time like we...

Don’t miss this state park. They just completed a major renovation that includes a new changing rooms, parking area, kids playground, drop off area, handicap parking area, and remote toilet room. The south facing sand beach is a great place to swim, play or just take a nice walk on the beach. The beach runs along the southern tip of Alburgh and is close to a mile long. Enjoy the lake views and the people watching during July and August. The park is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day with staff on site. Outside of that time frame they usually leave the gates open for people to enjoy the park. I always make a visit in September and October to walk on the beach and enjoy the peace and quiet of the area.

This beach has the best natural sand in the state. The views are amazing. It is wheel chair accessible along with a special wheel chair for the sand and water. The playground is small bit fun along with a slide that goes down the bank. I walk to the beach every day before the park opens thay I can with my dog Luna. Dogs are not allowed on the beach when open. The water is very high this year due to the flooding we've had this summer. But there has been enough beach to play on. And a big thanks to Regan, Maddie, Olive and the other help for keeping a clean beach with the added touch of flowers.

Visited in September. An amazing and great place to visit with kids. Huge beach. Accessible. Free entrance and parking. Near the parking lot, there's a nice playground for kids. Lots of seagulls. And an area with special stones that's nice to explore. During this time, the water was too cold to swim in. And it was very windy, so it's a good idea to bring a sweater or jacket. There's also a warning not to touch the foam near the water due to the risk of cyanobacteria. No restrooms on site.
