I go to this zoo a lot- did so way more when I was younger. I'm 15 now so.. I will Yap.

ANIMALS; the sloth has been 'hibernating' since 2020~. You can Say that its Not There (may have taken that sign down, I just remember that it had been up for MONTHS) Lots of animals- especially impressive since the hurricane led to every single one being rehomed Each animal appears very healthy and none have zoochosis; aka they all are enriched and not going Actually Bonkers the peacocks are everywhere, but thats to be expected. dont be afraid, they cant hurt you! I've always lent them my spare fries but i dont think you're supposed to do that.. They're friendly though :)

ACCESSIBILITY; enough benches about the zoo to satiate my need to sit, which is impressive because i am a shut-in that never exercises. very few if any stairs iirc, mostly ramps. i MAY be wrong but I never remember ANY stairs ANYWHERE I am not deaf but i AM legally blind. no braille is used on the signs for the animals and the signs themselves are often In Sight but Out Of Reach. Regardless of that, it is possible for a deaf or blind person to navigate the zoo and have a great time

WHEN TO GO; they have events for christmas AND halloween; both are EXCELLENT times to go. the halloween event is one i cannot remember for the LIFE OF ME but. check the facebook group for details the christmas event adds string lights and neons ALL OVER the zoo. it's so fun seeing giant dragons with christmas hats in the water or obscenely large neon-sign peacocks seriously it may be freezing and it may take like 20-30 minutes to get in during Christmas but it IS that fun random weekdays on warm but not Hot days are your best bet for any zoo; few guests are available then and animals will generally be more out-and-about when it's a comfortable temp

GIFTSHOP; fun. just great. both for kid guests and adults. get a t-shirt or a giant snake plushie or a sticker set and have a good time.

OVERALL; my favorite memories are visiting this zoo go to this zoo trust...

Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was so peaceful. Most of the animals were out or laying within view. The bathrooms were clean. The habitats were clean. A few other people/ families but not over crowded.

Location: near the mall area but easy to get to using GPS.

Environment: clean, no foul smells. Walkways were clear. The routes had labeled signs for restrooms, animal locations, and exits. The entire place is fairly shaded and comfortable. The animals seemed calm and relaxed- napping, sitting and looking around, or playing with each other.

Pricing: about $7 for adults.

Animals: lions, leopards, mountain lion, fennec fox, wolves, 2 types of bears, eagles, owl, many monkeys, many birds, peacocks that roam the park, anteater, deer, koi fish, alligators, turtles, ducks, flamingos, sloth, otters, raccoons, hogs, capybara, tapir, porcupine, tri-colored squirrel, kangaroo, iguana, snakes, frogs, and many many more. Animals are listed on their website. They do not have elephants, zebra, hippos, rhinos, or giraffes as of 12.14.2021; they did not have tigers when we went. Unfortunately their white and orange tigers passed away in 2021. They may get other tigers eventually, but for now there is a memorial for their long-term tigers at the tiger area.

Staff: didn't talk to any other than the person at the ticket counter. They seem nice and attentive to the animals. The Train conductor was friendly.

Other: they do have some on-going projects as of Dec 2021. We saw that they are preparing to install a parakeet exhibit near the kangaroos (towards the end of the park).

Overall, it's worth a visit. It's pretty affordable and there are plenty of animals to see. It took us about 2-3 hours to casually walk through, take photos and take our time with each animal. It was a relaxing visit and we will for...
