Really great place. Was a little disappointed that the main building wasn’t open, but that was totally on me. I didn’t check ahead for hours or anything or how that all works. Besides that, went on a little hike, there’s trails with markers and information. There was a restroom that was open, full of spiders but what do you expect in the woods. There was a big open shelter with picnic tables. The spot where the stone was found has some nice reads. Place was well kept, didn’t see any litter, would definitely go back with more...

Small playground for the kids, lots of beautiful hiking trails, picnic tables, and a new interpretative center with a mini museum! Check for geocahes and enjoy some beautiful local history at any time of year. The new visitors center has nice modern restrooms and a water bottle filling station as well. And all for free! Read moreThe park was empty on the afternoon that we visited which was absolutely wonderful for a quiet picnic & some hiking. The visitor building detailing the history of the runestone was still open despite having no staff on hand. The hiking trails are mostly mowed paths & would greatly benefit from some additional signing & if the visitor center had paper maps to take along that would make getting places & getting back...
