Literally right next-door to the beautiful White Pine Trail, and there's always plenty of available parking for 32 cars (plus 1 handicapped parking space) but I rarely see more than a dozen vehicles parked here, unless it's on weekends or holidays. They just paved this whole site with awesome new blacktop here in June 2023 (used to be just dirt/gravel parking lot) and there is still a walking path through the woods that leads right to the Rogue River. I believe they still do allow fishing here along the riverbank, and the land is now owned/maintained by the county parks dept. This property at 4400 12 Mile Rd NE is also where the old Rockford dump used be be located several decades ago, and is AKA the "Stowell Gravel Pit" by locals.

Favorite trailhead along the white pine trail in Rockford - usually not too busy, and occasional views of the river

I love this access point of the trail. It's very close to a couple neat spots to explore. The only negative is when the parking lot gets rough with...
