Lake Findley in Alice Tx is named after William Edward (Bill) Findley, a prominent Alice citizen who passed away in 2018 at the age of 96. He was the founder of Findley Engineering Service Company, aka FESCO, a large well respected leader in the energy industry.
Bill Findley was a founding member of the Alice Water Authority, the entity founded in the 1960s which owns the lake. Bill served as a valuable member of the board of the authority for over 50 years all the way thru his death at age 96, serving as its president many of those years.
Bill and his small group of fellow co-founders oversaw the sucessful completion of two pipelines built in the 1960s and 1970s from Lake Corpus Christi to Lake Findley, providing the source of water for the city of Alice.
