I've been going to this park every summer since 1990 and have love it up until the last few years. It's just over ran by drunk loud people with no respect for anyone, especially those in tents and pop-ups. You better hope you have a solid camper or your going to deal with people blaring their music and being loud past midnight. The DNR have no power to do anything anymore and someone called the cops the other night and they didn't do anything either so they are being even louder tonight. The one group had a concert going on, stage and all. Which was pretty cool and all except you could hear it though out the whole south half of the park. We were a few lots away and I couldn't hear my wife talk to me across the table it was so loud. The middle aged guy at the DNR station just said that hearing someones music from the lot over was normal. They were 5+ lots away from us. He just didn't want to do his job. Unfortunately I can't recommend anyone to come to Aloha anymore during the busy months. Come up in the spring or fall if you want to see this park at its best. I'd give this park 0...
Read moreDon't go here if your using a rental car with out of state plates! The pass is $17 for michigan residents which we are but they won't go off your driver's license or anything else but your license plate. We used a rental car with a Nebraska plate and we were charged $37 for the pass. I asked if they offered a veterans discount so I could at least save a few bucks but apparently they only offer that to michigan residents as well and again will only go off your license plate not your state ID. Last I checked I was a veteran of The United States not Michigan. The lots are uneven so if it rains you will be walking through huge puddles. The bathrooms say they are closed certain times for cleaning but are hardly ever closed at the time posted causing you to wait 45 mins to an hour. Not even close to enough bathrooms and showers for the amount of sites. Half of the park was closed so they could plant grass. Not a whole lot for kids to do even with it being the 4th of July weekend. There are much better parks to plan a trip for. Will not...
Read moreWe stayed on site 31 over the 4th of July. The site was PERFECT. It had plenty of shade and having a beach right on our site was heaven!! I donât think Iâd stay here again if we couldnât get a lakefront site. This is because the rest of the sites have no trees, and the campground beach is very small and crowded. My biggest complaint was that there wasnât really a playground- just a volleyball area and a set of swings in an area without trees, so itâs just too hot to use. Also, like many state parks it can be a tight squeeze to back in if you have a bigger rig. Other than that it was great. The trails are nice. The sunsets couldnât get any better. The camp store donuts are AMAZING. Make sure you grab them before they run out!! If youâre in the area check out Ocqueoc Falls. Itâs about a 30 minute drive but...
