Long Lake County Park was a little underwhelming. Nice people, the bathrooms were clean, the roads are in good shape, and Long Lake Is absolutely beautiful, but I had a few issues also. The rustic campsites have few if any trees. They are smashed close together right in the middle of the camp and ours was right next to the play ground and bathrooms. I think our rustic site WAS the playground. I guess they call them rustic because they have no electric or water hookups. The fire pit was full of trash, the beach area was full of trash and cigarette butts. The quiet hours at night are not enforced and there are huge street lights that stay on all night. When I think of rustic I think: remote, county, no power, and rural.
We spent the first 32 hours listing to all of our tightly packed neighbors generators. People run these day and night. There’s no power or water hookup so people just run their generators until they die apparently.
Besides that, the view and bathrooms were nice. We were in a spot next to the lake.. surrounded by clanking generators.. but it was nice to look at if you could zone out the awful noise.
Probably won’t be back again...
