Long Lake County Park was a little underwhelming. Nice people, the bathrooms were clean, the roads are in good shape, and Long Lake Is absolutely beautiful, but I had a few issues also. The rustic campsites have few if any trees. They are smashed close together right in the middle of the camp and ours was right next to the play ground and bathrooms. I think our rustic site WAS the playground. I guess they call them rustic because they have no electric or water hookups. The fire pit was full of trash, the beach area was full of trash and cigarette butts. The quiet hours at night are not enforced and there are huge street lights that stay on all night. This campground is not horrible and I would use it again in a pinch, but not likely.

Excellent campground. This place is really run well and provides easy access to anything you may need, including low-cost black and gray water dumping service. It sits right on the lake, gorgeous views, lots of playgrounds, and a great boat ramp. It would have a full 5 stars if the campsites were larger. If you have a boat and camper, rent two sites to have a bit more room.

Beautiful park with plenty of lake access, two swimming areas and a boat launch. All of the people seemed quite friendly and the the park is pet friendly. There were lots of very well-behaved dogs, but not overwhelmingly so. Easy access and good roads on/off of US 23. Just north of Alpena, and right across the road from Lake Huron.

Define “rustic.”

When I think of rustic I think: remote, county, no power, and rural.

We spent the first 32 hours listing to all of our tightly packed neighbors generators. People run these day and night. There’s no power or water hookup so people just run their generators until they die apparently.

Besides that, the view and bathrooms were nice. We were in a spot next to the lake.. surrounded by clanking generators.. but it was nice to look at if you could zone out the awful noise.

Probably won’t be back again...

The water was so mucky we all got ear and nose infections,we got bitten up by mites in the gravel at the campgrounds, the neighbor campsite had fleas on their dog and just going near them a couple jumped on my husband. The lady on the golfcart going around at night to tell us to be quiet because it was after 10pm because the kids were playing a lil loud but on our last night after 10 another campsite was playing loud music and very loud after hours and was never warned to quiet down and they stayed up...
