This park is great for a picnic, a walk on the trail, or a place for the kids to run around and burn off some energy.
This playground equipment is first-rate, and really well maintained. There's something to do for all ages, even the two-year-old crowd, with a few bouncy animals, and swings with backs. There's some lower to the ground stuff as well if you want to let your younger one explore on their own without worrying they'll fall 12 feet.
There's a nice large covered picnic table area that oddly I've never seen anyone use. I'm not sure why, as it seems like a great place to have a family get-together or a party. There's even power there, if you wanted to bring a small radio or something. There are charcoal grills near by, of the extra large variety, so you could certainly feed a pretty large group of people. Could roast a pig on that thing.
There are some nice trails around the park, and a smattering of picnic tables throughout if you wanted to have a low-key picnic away from other people. The bathroom facilities are clean and located close to the playground and the main picnic area.

Read moreWahlfield Park has one of the best mountain bike trails in the area. It is well maintained and a blast to ride. There are a few options to choose from when riding the yellow direction (I have only gone on Saturdays, so I'm not sure about the other direction). The first fork is just out of the woods where you can either go to the right and bypass part of the trail or go left where you can hit the flow tracks then Oxbow loop. The flow track area has 3 tracks to choose from and it loops you back to the beginning so you can stay on the flow track or continue on. Oxbow loop follows a small river and has a fairly narrow trail with a steep drop off on one side, so it is a bit more technical and dangerous. The last option is a section similar in terrain to Oxbow called wild onions. When I did both of these combined with one loop on the flow track it was just under 6 miles. Highly...
Read moreI go here pretty much just for the MTB trails. I can't speak to the playground or other parts but they always seem busy so I guess they are good.
The building at the trailhead is excellent. It is a nice change of pace to have flush toilets at a trail.
The trail is usually one of the last ones in the area to dry out after rain as it is mostly clay. The short version of the trail is about 4 miles and not too difficult. You can add on several side trails to make it longer.
If you go there and skip the flow trails and the oxbow loop you are missing out on some excellent trails (especially yellow direction).
The 2019 edition of the No Problems flow is wonderful if short. I can't wait to see 98 problems and lots o' problems get the same treatment.
It's close to my office so I frequent there as...
