Switzer Picnic Area — Attraction in Altadena

😡😡😡Thief Vandalism 😡😡😡 There was no spot left by the river to park my car on Sunday so me and my friends and many other cars parked at the upper level parking then after having a fun day we returned to our car at 5 pm then we saw many cars with brocken window I had no cash so nothing is missing from my car but they stole my friends backpack from his car. Awsome place. There is parking, bathrooms, tables and bbqs. *Remember to park all the way down the hill go until you see the river/creek NOT near the entrance up top. If you don't you will have a very hard time carrying your items like food, ice chest etc. 10 yards away from your car there is a natural river/creek. You can also hike on a trail that runs along the river/creek. The trail goes a long way. I bring my dogs & kids they always...

Great hike, only about 2.5 easy miles to the pools below the falls. The way back is harder and mostly uphill. Some cool ruins and trail work done over the years. Update! Significant increase in people sin e the last few times I was here. Show up in the early morning or just after lunch to get a parking space at the bottom. Parking at hwy 2 or the first lot adds a ton of uphill at the very end...
