This is like, if you do one cave here this is the cave you do. It's a brief walk from the visitor center and requires no special equipment. I traversed it with my 80 year old dad and he managed it with no issues, though you do have to bend nearly in half at points and the entrance is a steep set of metal stairs, it is not an ada compliant type of place. If you've never seen a lava tube before it's very cool though it's not like, the most amazing lava tube, just a lava tube that is right close to the visitor center.

Amazing cave to explore in Lava Beds National Monument! The National Park Service has really done well with lighting up walkways and adding cool boards every few feet explaining all about the cave and life formations. Note that it does get cold the further down you go, so be sure to use gloves when holding the rails at the bottom.

This is the easiest cave and should be the first cave to visit in this National Monument. There is light in the cave so you don’t need flashlight. The path is flat and there is only one low ceiling area. The cave is spacious and the path is short. It is for beginners. The view of the colorful rock in the cave is wonderful.

This cave is super cute. It's like a starterpack cave, with basic information, low points so you have some idea what you're getting into (no crawling required), and information about features of the caves formed by the lava beds. Whoever put this together did a great job.

Steep stairs at the entrance. One way in one way out. Probably 'less' fun on a crowded day, but surely cute...

If you're not comfortable with caving and you're in Lava Beds, this cave and Skull Cave are the best to see. Mushpot Cave is well-lit and has many info plaques that describe the formations. The path is easy to follow and there is only one section that requires any ducking or maneuvering. It's very close to the campground and visitor's center, which makes it...
