The park is in a very pretty quiet little nestled away area. I loved the boardwalk and got to see some beautiful Barred Owls. Also saw a baby gator and some Anhinga. There were some people fishing off of the boardwalk in a designated area. The trails are shaded mostly and easy to walk on. The playground area is very noisy of course if there is kids there. I went on a Sunday. I imagine it's quieter during the week. There is a small butterfly garden that was lovely to see. You can ride your bikes into the park but must lock your bikes up on a rack. Also no pets allowed. (No Dogs!) that is not mentioned anywhere until you arrive at the park. Why 2 stars you might ask? The parking situation is very frustrating. Parking across as down the steet is not enjoyable. Its a pretty good walk to get to the park. Plus you have to cross Maitland blvd which I did not like. I imagine it would be a little scary if you are trying to get your kids over there as well. Once you do all that and cross the street, there is still More walking to do down a paved road to get the park area where the playground is and the trails start. The way to tell if the park is open is basically a sign they post on the front gate. There is a lot of times I do not understand why it is closed. Parking across the street caused issues for us getting in and upon leaving so it definitely affected how I feel about the...

Me and a couple buddys went to this location trying to find new interesting spots in the area to explore and we found nazi Germany, the gate keeper (parkranger) had a horrible attitude as soon as he saw us longboarding, and informed us that there was no skateboarding on the property and we all said sorry and carried our boards the whole time we where being followed by duddly do right and as we where going back to the park and ride he came up as we where passing under the tunnel and told us "get lost you can't skate here!" (Nobody was skating and everyone was holding there boards) so then he goes and says that we need to go hangout in the parking lot and wouldn't give a reason why we couldn't sit there so I came up with some bs about my rapper friend wanted to do a music video there and mr parkranger couldn't give any reason for us not to be there and keep repeating "your not allowed here"/ "your not allowed to do that" and was a complete old fart to us young people. Well with all that said I do not recommend going here unless you wanna be harassed, followed, and disrespected! Plus this "park"is bogas and should be shut down and the money saved used to teach kids to read or something for a cause, not for a grumpy old duddly to run...

This little park is just the bees knees.

Since moving to the area a few years ago, I’ve been lucky to live just 2 minutes away from this hidden gem.

There’s a lot of foot area for exploring on their trails (most of which are on risen wooden boardwalks), plus the playground and of course the lake towards the back of the park where there’s always someone fishing. There’s a butterfly garden near the parking/playground areas where I’ve seen massively cool looking caterpillars, incredibly deep colored flowers, and a plethora of butterflies. My one complaint about this park is that it’s closed on weekdays (it’s closed Mon-Wed). I used to have another complaint regarding the trolley, but now that the pandemic has affected everything, there is no more trolley (yay!). You used to have to park on the other side of the main street to ride a trolley if you wanted to get in the park on weekends. Never made sense to me.

If you want to disconnect from the noise of the city, the news, and everything else, but can't go too far from home? Come here. If you easily find the magic in nature, this place is quite the adventure compared to most other parks in the area. You will be...

Amazing peaceful urban oasis with plenty of benches to sit back and relax; long boardwalk trails; clean restroom and pavilions. Restrooms have flushable toilets, toilet tissue, and faucets with soap and hand dryer. Perfect park for anyone who wants a nearby getaway from the city or suburban life. Also great educational plaques on the nature life and watershed in Lake Lotus. Please note below the photos and address differences for parking. Only open Thursday through Sunday. Off-Site PARKING and TRAM pick-up: Set GPS to: 8903 Magnolia Homes Rd Orlando, FL 32810 WEEKENDS: Do NOT set GPS to the actual park address, 1153 Lake Lotus Park Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Lake Lotus Park from off-site parking is walking distance, if you do not want to wait for the tram, which arrives every 45 minutes. For the 2 times I have visited, Lake Lotus Park is so serene and has long stretches of boardwalk for the trail. Thankful for the trail maintenance team who built and maintains this so that the public can enjoy this wonderful park.

Trail run? Fishing? Nature view? A breathe of fresh air? They all have it here! I am really amazed as to how they made the running route. The route is made of wood which is to protect humans for wild animals. ( creaking and old but I did not encounter a broken one, but still watch out!) ( you may see a lot of warning signs about alligators inside) In the middle there is what they call the eye or window of the lake where in you could view the whole lake! Furthermore, fishing in the area is allowed but make sure you have the license for it. There are also some playground for kids to play in the middle of the park. The comfort room is decent and clean. And they have a map! So we won't get lost! 5 stars for this and this is by far the best i've seen in altamonte. 😊
