A winery worth going out of the way for!
Awesome new winery that makes some amazing--change your life -fruit wines! Both Dry and super sweet. Surprised they do a dry muscadine and a dry blueberry. That are both really refined, and excellent for both wine lovers And even non-wine lovers like me!
They also carry a really cool cider. The owner said they are working on a lot of new things as well. They have their own beehives so In the near future they are going to be making MEAD!
I found out that all the fruit comes from the state of Georgia except for the lemons.
The lemon blueberry wine is by far my favorite and it is surprising how light and tasty it is. You can definitely taste the lemon and just a hint of blueberry. This one is called "quittin time".
They have a peach that is sweet, light and refreshing but surprisingly complex.
Definitely coming back--
This place is worthy of going far out of your way to visit and taste the unique wines.
Definitely go or order.
I believe they're closed for the rest of the winter to spend time with their family.
Really home-like feel--and they also have live music from time to time.
Amazing experience--some of the best wine I have ever had hands down. And some of my favorites...
Read moreWhere has this winery been all my life? I am not a huge fan of dry wines and usually end up on the dessert end of tastings. Sweet Acres focuses on fruit wines away from traditional grapes and it's spectacular. You can still find some dries if you're a traditionalist like my wife, but she loved everything she tried too.
Our host was wonderful at explaining the wines and very friendly. I STRONGLY recommend making the drive to this cozy little area instead of just doing the tasting room in Helen. It was picturesque and peaceful. While I enjoyed all of the apple, blackberry, etc. wines, but the Muscadine was to die for. I'll definitely be ordering more...
Read moreWe happened to see the sign as were driving up to the mountains. We decided to stop on our way back. We are so glad we did. The winery is beautiful- including the recently built fire pit. Jenny, who waited on us, was excellent as she explained the wines we chose to taste. There is a story behind the winery,, the wines, the names and the labels. I believe the labels may have been done by the owners mother. If you are near Gainesville Ga take the time to visit Sweet Acres Farm Winery.. it was a great experience. We left with six...
